The repair man was a 5 Star. The 4 star was because you gave him the wrong time to arrive which I had verified on Thursday with one of your phone people. Also, the person on the phone earlier in the week when I first called in said that they could not make the same day so setup the appointment for Saturday 10 to 12 and because of that she said she would give me a $25 deduction which the Repair man said he did not have that on his pad.

The Precision Team

Rich was very competent in repairing my garage door which has come down on the very back of the van. He released some air in the back tires which allowed me to move the car from under the door. He reinflated my tires and then proceeded to work on the bent garage door, straighten out dents in the frame, getting the 4 rollers back in the track and was able to straighten the garage panels that had been bent and stuck. He tested the door making sure it operated smoothly with the door openers before he left. He suggested that I should get the affected panels replaced, but said it could possibly wait until next spring. Rich said it was the worst garage door problem he had ever worked on. I’d call and ask for Rich if I ever again have few a problem. He definitely knew what was needed to fix the problem and he did it! I thought when I called that I was contacting the company that installed the garage doors, but was told Precision was the garage door opener that has been installed. So I especially appreciated that he was able to repair the door! Thank you Rich!

We had a spring break on an old wooden garage door. Up until that happened the door functioned without fault for 30 years. It never required adjustment. After new springs were installed, the technician closed it and opened it once and it seemed to function OK. After the technician left I closed the door. The next day I opened the door, but when I attempted to close it, the door would not close completely. There was supposed to be a ten year warranty on the work that was done. The technician came back out, looked at the door and indicated the problem was not covered by warranty. It would cost another $200 plus parts and labor to fix the issue. I refused to spend any more money with them. I will be going with another company after spending $800 with Precision. Very disappointing.

Hi Steve Lortz, Thank you for your feedback. The new parts installed on your garage door are under warranty. However, as you shared your garage door is 30 years old and to function properly your garage door required additional parts. This was also noted on the safety inspection the technician filled out and discuss with you both times he was at your house. We will still honor the estimate on the additional work if you decide to move forward with it.

Our garage door opener has an intermittent problem with the safety sensors. I called after it failed to work for 4 days Precision initially said they would send someone that day but called later and said it wouldn’t be til the following day. Later on that day the door started working again. The tech ran it through multiple cycles, but the problem did not occur while he watched. He did recommend adding a surge protector to the opener. He said he couldn’t do anything and to call again when it failed again.

We called all of the garage door services places we knew that are located in Lincoln and no one could help us on a Friday evening. With the garage door stuck most of the way down we didn't have a way to get our vehicle out of the garage and my son had a hockey tournament we needed to get to the next morning. When I called Precision Garage door they were happy to help us and scheduled a tech to come down from Omaha that evening. Franky Au arrived a little later and he was able to fix the door quickly. Franky was friendly, fast and he cared about the quality of his work. It took a little testing and adjusting to make sure the door was opening and closing perfectly and he made sure we were happy with the work before he left. The cost of the repair was about the same as it would have been from a Lincoln based company too. We're definitely calling Precision Door Service for any future garage door needs.

Precision: It's a good thing the people I spoke, with and the service technician, Rick, were all top shelf. Certainly, we all pay a lot for goods and services that are excellent quality. Having said that, no amount of supply chain BS or any other excuse can justify a cost of $730 to install a new opener mechanism, only. I feel completely taken by this absurd charge that is excessive to state the obvious! Rick was great! Would I recommend Precision to someone? Only to a person of means who doesn't care about what they pay for something as long as it's done. Let's just hope this Lanier product is better than the Luftmaster Precision installed for me. I had lots of trouble with that one.
