I called to scheduled an appointment to get my keyless entry pad replaced and have my remote control reprogrammed. As I was on the phone making this appointment I made sure to ask how much it would cost and if I would be getting charged a service. I was told I would just be paying for the keyless pad for a certain price I agreed to and the reprogramming was no charge. When the tech came out his name is Dakota he wasn’t the best at putting in my new pad, he dropped the new one and scratched it, he didn’t seem to care and he then reprogrammed my remote and which took him maybe 2 mins then I go to pay and he tells me a much higher number then what I was told when I made my appointment with the lady over the phone. He was trying to up charge me by $130. He had to call his boss to “approve” me not paying for all these extra fees and he had a very unpleasant unprofessional attitude that didn’t help the situation. Terrible customer service. They record their calls he said so I really hope that they go back and listen to my call to get the scheduling team and techs on the same page so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I will not be taken advantage of and I won’t be using this company again.

Precision is a reputable company however after my recent experience, I feel that Precision only wants to make money by selling me items I may not have needed. I just had quite a bit of work done and when I had to call back with a minor problem, the technician gave me prices on replacing certain elements without actually looking at the problem. (Red light on door blinking continuously) I took a paper towel and wiped off the lens and the light stopped blinking. I don’t believe the technician took his hands out of his pockets. I’m very disappointed that Precision has lowered themselves to this level.

Response:

Mr. Logsdon, Thank you very much for sharing this information. It sounds like there has been some miscommunication and we apologize. In our previous trip to your home when we replaced springs and bearings we noted the 1997 model openers nearing end of life with specific concerns on safety sensor and logic board connectivity. The same technician was dispatched to your home that was there previously and his goal was to provide a long term solution. We're sorry we missed our mark here and hope to regain your confidence in the future.

I paid $69 to have a guy come out on Sunday February 9, to replace broken springs. His first estimate was $1902 for springs, bearings, rollers, cable and housing. I told him I want the springs replaced so the next estimate was $971 for springs and bearings ( Amazon two springs are under $100 and three steel bearings are $15) I told the guy it was too high based on past experiences, he said prices everywhere have gone up and its my safety he is concerned about. In the end, I said no thanks! I checked around the next day and had a repair company come right away and do it for $380. In my mind the Precision repair man was trying to steal money from me and if I didn’t have some knowledge, I would have been his next sucker! Do your homework and check around when calling for repairs and never use Precision!

Response:

Dear Precision Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my recent experience with your garage door repair service. I contacted Precision to schedule an appointment for a broken garage door spring. The technician who came to inspect the door spent about 30-40 minutes evaluating it. He informed me that the door was not in good condition and recommended a complete replacement, quoting a cost of $5,000 to $6,000. When I requested that only the broken spring be replaced, he quoted $1,100 for the job and mentioned there would be no guarantee after the replacement. Given that my garage door was installed by the builder and is the same as the doors in all 550 homes in our community, I found this quote to be quite high. I decided to seek a second opinion and found another technician who replaced the springs for $375 and provided a two-year guarantee. I wanted to bring this to your attention as I believe it is important for your team to be aware of customer experiences and the competitive market rates. I hope this feedback helps improve your service and pricing strategies.

Response:

Thanks for your feedback Atul. I appreciate your sentiment. I was at the doctor recently and he listed all the things I need to do improve my health at 52yrs of wear and tear. I heard what he said and decided to completely disregard his advice. Some people don't heed good advice. I'm the same way when it comes to doctors. We recommended you REPLACE your door. That is our honest recommendation. Our default recommendation is repair, repair, repair. If we're telling you to replace it, you can guarantee it needs to be replaced. Any money you spend on fixing it will be wasted. The two year warranty you received is worthless. The replacement spring will not fail in 2yrs. Your door will fail. At your insistence, we made an estimate for repairs. You are comparing our repair estimate replacing ALL the mechanical parts on the door. to replacement of one broken spring. Of course the cost is different. You're just being silly at that point. Please list all the parts outlined in our estimate before you compare apples to oranges.

My garage door spring broke so the door wouldn't open I had seen the advertisements for this company. The guys that came out were very courteous and professional and prompt. I was floored at the cost I was quoted for the repair and declined the service but I did pay for the 69$ service call as agreed when I asked to have a tech to evaluate the problem. When I was given the quote I declined the service because of the outrageous price I was quoted.. I called another company and had my door repaired for a third of the cost this company wanted. It was approximately 20 minutes of labor. I wont call this company again.

Response:

Mr Halliburton, We would like to extend our sincerest apologies that our solution did not align with your expectations. We understand that pricing is an important factor in choosing a service provider and regret that we were not able to satisfy your requirements during your service call. Our technician provided an estimate for a conversion versus a single spring replacement as we recommend an upgrade from a Torquemaster to the more reliable Torsion system. We appreciate the opportunity to assess your garage door situation and would be happy to assist and provide further clarity on our services if needed.

Precision came out to give me a price to replace a garage door keypad. A keypad with a camera. They sell for $49.99 on Amazon. Lowes, and Home Depot. I figured it would cost at least double and I was good with that. The service tech Colin arrived and was very nice and professional. Guess what they quoted me? $759.00. I quickly told Colin no. Colin politely left but sat in his truck. He called me 15 minutes later and told me he just got off the phone with his boss and they can now install that $49.99 keypad for $349.99. Again I said no thank you. I will make it a point to never use Precision again and I will tell my experience to everyone I know. I am convinced that Precision is price gouging. My recommendation will be for people to use a small independent company who would be ashamed to charge $750 for a 10 minute job and a piece of equipment that costs $50. Precision, if you even care, please give me a call. I would like to hear your explanation of why this was going to cost $750. I doubt you will even call. I doubt this review even gets pisted. Ron B.

They did a fine job installing the new door and automatic opener. Selling my home and the inspector said the company forgot the weather stripping around the door…figured it was an oversight. The tech returned and charged me an extra $325 for the weather stripping around! I’m on a fixed budget and was very upset for having to pay more!! I will never use this company again and I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this company. Bad business in my opinion

First, our technician was great. He was professional and timely and informative so I have no complaints in regards to him, that being said Precision is not who you should use to repair your garage. We called Precision first, and they came out to give us a bid. To repair our garage they quoted us $1,200, and actually recommended we get a new door for $1,500. This was much more than we planned to spend to fix a spring and a cable, so we decided to get a second bid. We used an independent garage door repair guy who had high reviews on the Nextdoor app. He came out within 24 hours and fixed our current garage door for $210. It is running beautifully now, no issues! A $1,000 difference just isn’t acceptable. I know Precision probably has more overhead so I was expecting a slight difference but $1,000 is just crazy. So, if you get a bid from Precision make sure you get a second bid as well.

Response:

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words regarding our technician’s professionalism and timeliness – we always strive to provide a high level of service, and we’re glad that your experience with him was positive. We also understand and respect your concerns about pricing. We take pride in offering quality products and services, and while our estimates may sometimes reflect our commitment to using high-quality materials and providing expert service, we recognize that it’s important for our customers to feel confident and comfortable with their choices. We always encourage customers to find the solution that best fits their needs. If you ever need further assistance or have any questions in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you the best with your garage door!

This was an absolute price gouge I was given an estimate of over 1100 to reinstall a loose cable . I was then told I needed new bearing due to heat failure on a door that moves slower than 5 revolutions per minute. Then was told you can not reuse a spring that had zero issues due to a safety.. I had local guy come out make repairs and even install all new rollers with bearings to quite the door for less then 300 and was done 30mins after your technician left my property. I will be dropping this post on all available platforms to alert people how you do business.

So to be honest. I had you guys out because of a garage door that didn’t want to close. We had just moved in. The tech. While nice and cordial. Was pitching a new system the whole time. His diagnosis was that the tracks were a little off line. He got his cordless out. Moved the tracks around. He tried the garage door a few times in front of me and it seemed to work fine. My wife came home later and it worked fine. Then when I went to go to work… the whole thing fell apart. We called you back out because I had to leave for work and couldn’t because I couldn’t get my car out of garage. I was informed there would be an ER charge of $199. I had no choice at the time but to be honest. Sorry your tech messed up the garage even worse than it was. All the while trying to sell a whole new system. Ironically it’s working perfect now after he came back out. I’ve done my research. Motors don’t have anything to with the tracks. I feel your tech didn’t fasten things correctly when he was here the first time and that’s why it fell out of the tracks after only 6-8 uses You can contact me if you wish but I don’t plan to use you again. Problem should’ve been fixed the first time and shouldn’t have been charged an additional $200 for coming out to fix what you messed up the first time.

Response:

Garage door cable broke and subsequently the door would not open. Sent a man out who started off by saying, “ oh this is bad, very bad, oh so bad”. My reply was not really it’s a cable that snapped, happens from time to time, just replace the cable and how much. (mind you, I am a woman) was told again, “ Oh this is bad very very bad.” Pressed for just give me a price to replace the cable, was told, by this non-communicative idiot, “you will need an entire new door” - at which point I clearly figured out his game and said, great, have your company give me a bid and I’ll decide then, if you’re sure. He was very sure and quite proud of himself. Off he went, I called another company who came out immediately, replaced the cable, cost was $95.00. Total scam artists.

My door needed the springs adjusted. The tech was onsite about 20 min and I had to ask him lube the door before he left. The cost of the service was $239. It just seems to me that the cost far exceeded the service. I will not be calling them to do any more door service.

My experiance was awful ! I was quoted one price on the phone, and then when the young man came to perform the service, the price was doubled. I was shocked. If Precision lied about the cost, how could I trust them to do a good job? I canceled the job on the spot. Obviously, the service did not meet my expectations. I will never call them again or refer them to friends.

In Aug on 23 they replaced some parts on my door. It was almost $1000 dollars. This last month my door started making a loud noise when I opened it sometimes. Since they were here less than 18 months ago I was hoping the warranty on this was still good. When Matt came out he said I needed a new motor He told me it would be over $1200 dollars. He said if it wasn’t fixed it would break and I couldn’t get my door open. I told him that was a lot, but being a single senior I knew it had to be fixed. So he started working. I came in and started googling prices to replace a motor and it said between $300-$500. When I ask him he said other parts had to be replaced too, but I wasn’t charged labor because of my work done before! I feel I was taken advantage of, being a widow senior!

I had a broken torsion spring on my garage door. I decided to have both springs replaced. Precision Door replaced both springs along with a new torsion shaft which they said needed replacing for the cost of $391.25. 98 days later the spring pad ripped away from the garage door header. The spring pad was a 2x6 piece of wood (1-1/2” thick) that had been in place and functioning with the original springs for the past 23 plus years. The two screws used to install the torsion shaft/center bearing bracket were not even 1-1/2” long, which means they never anchored the center bearing bracket to the actual garage door header. So after taking off work to meet the technician I was told that this was my problem. There was a $49.95 service fee for them to come back out, $125.00 fee to reset the torsion springs and $49.95 for a new spring pad that they now decided to use longer lag bolts to anchor the center bearing bracket to the garage door header, which if they would have used longer lag bolts to begin with I never would have had to call them back out to fix the problem they created. Using appropriate length lag bolts would be something I believe an experienced professional installer would have known to do. Now that is a total of $616.15 for Precision Door to replace two(2) torsion springs. Do yourself a favor and save your money and look somewhere else for your garage door repairs.

RIP OFF! AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND THEY DID NOT CARE. Needed a tech to open a garage door. Took the tech 8 minutes to open it (no fancy tools), charged me $319!!! So apparently the rate for a tech to come to your house is around $2,100/hour. Tech concurred the price was absurd for the quick duration and called his supervisor two separate times to see if he could get the fee waived. Expressed my displeasure to two separate representatives after the tech left and nobody seemed to care.

0 stars. What a total scam. They advertise a $149 tune-up with new rollers. Then, when the tech shows up, he says there's a $100 service charge plus gas and miscellaneous supplies for a total $289. The person I booked with never mentioned any of this. She only said the tech would call 20 minutes before they arrived. STAY AWAY

0 Stars, had to select one star to leave review. Good morning, Thought I would provide you with some feedback for future reference. I was quoted $749.50 to replace a garage door opener with one (1) opener and an additional $50 for a second one yesterday. Had another company come out yesterday as well and quoted me $385 for the same service and it came with 2 remotes and had them replace it. $599 for the opener is quite steep and do understand labor and installation but the mark up on the opener I can’t see.

Used to be great but not anymore. They do not bring their own ladders. The technician broke our ladder. No estimate or quote provided then charged hundreds of dollars when only half of the work was done. Called for a supervisor, was hung up on once, transferred 4 times, then was belittled by a supervisor for 20 minutes. Absolutely horrible.

Technician was personable and diagnosed issue in ~15 min. Spring replacement job. Significantly more $$$ than expected for a seemingly simple fix. Literally all other components in place from previous install. Almost seems like a bait and switch with what amounts to a $340/hr incurred expense for zero work done except for a visual inspection. Buyer beware.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! First was sent a text confirming appt between 9-11.Tech shows up at 3. When appt was made I told them that all I wanted was a quote for their least expensive garage door opener. Their office quoted me $399 installed. When tech finally got here his quote was $2100. When I explained I only wanted the 399 opener, he said with the extras he needed to add on it would be almost a $1000. I told him I didn't appreciate the "bait and switch"and told him he should leave. Then because he didn't do the work, he was going to charge me $120 service charge. I didn't pay it and never will.

We had a lot of noise coming from the garage door motor, so we called to have someone come and give an estimate to fix problem. Tyrone came and proceeded to tell us that all the rollers and stems would need replacing. He said the stems were to small, and needed to be 7 inches instead of 3. He said the motor would need replacing. Estimate over $2000. Had Boynton Garage door come. Replaced the motor $500. Noise gone! Rollers fine. My next door neighbor had a problem with sensor alignment. Tyrone gave her the same story he gave us. She told him to leave. Her fix was $50. Don’t use this company!

Do not call them if you need a $50 Torquemaster spring replaced in your garage door system as they will try and force you to replace the entire system for $1000+.

Response:

Dear Mr Fenuick, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. Our goal is always to provide honest and transparent service to all of our customers. Our technicians evaluate the entire system, not just one part, to ensure the garage door operates safely and reliably. In some cases, we may recommend additional repairs or replacements if we believe that other components are worn or at risk of failure. Suggesting a full system replacement isn’t about upselling—it’s about doing the job right and not leaving you with an unreliable door that could break down in the near future. We understand that this can be frustrating, and we always aim to provide clear explanations and options before proceeding. In our experiences with the Torquemaster systems we recommend replacement vs repair as a long term solution. If you were looking for a quick, cheap fix, we're probably just not the right fit. We stand by our work and the recommendations we make based on years of expertise, not just the part that needs replacing.

The installer did a good fast job, but the individual that passed on the company had the same thing done as I had, precision gave her a 200.00 dollar discount that they didn’t offer me, when my husband checked prices from other companies it varied from 350 to 500 dollars not 920 as well as an added charge of 55 dollars to get rid of an 18 inch long broken spring. This company is unscrupulous and I will never do business with them again and I will advise anyone to seek another garage door company.

Rip off of a company. Two days after the 1200 dollar repair the garage door broke down. It was supposed to be under waranty for 7 years but they found an exclusion to not cover the work they did and wanted more money to fix their problem which was not tightening the spring enough to bear the weight of the door which caused the motor to burn out. Meanwhile I am a caregiver to a wifw with ALS and will need to use some of the money I would have used on medical equipment for my wife to find a more reputable company to do the work correctly. Thanks for nothing! I feel as thoughI took a match and lit 1200 dollars on fire! Please don’t use these hacks for your garage door needs.

This is from the bill. Off Track Level 2 - Labor to place door into proper position / May only be to secure door if customer refuses recommended work 1.00 $149.95 All labor is discussed prior to work being performed. We will do our best to stay within the estimated time. However, please understand we do occasionally run into issues out of our control. We will stop work and attempt to notify the authorizing agent immediately, prior to continuing work. Actual work time may vary depending on unforeseen conditions. $149.95 Seems to me I was charged twice for the same thing plus a charge for coming out. The entire visit/work took 20 minutes. No senior citizen discount is applied even though I was told you do provide it. The technician was trying to sell me a new garage door which I can not afford and the only thing he did is close the door for this kind of money. This is a rip off or scam of a senior citizen in distress. I plan to spread the word that you are rip off artists. In the section "Service performed" there is no category that fits my situation. No purchase, no repair.

I paid $1,143.13 to replace springs and bearings on a two car garage door and for a one year warranty! It took no more that 30-40 minutes at most to do the job. That’s really excessive. Both cars were trapped in the garage and I really needed access to them asap. Honestly I was not in a good position to look elsewhere and feel I really got taken by Precision Garage Door. Taking advantage of customers is not a great reputation to have. I really can’t recommend the company and feel it’s only fair to warn people of this kind of practice. “A neighborly company” really isn’t the case.

No, you did NOT meet expectations. I asked 2 people prior to your tech coming to my house about pricing. Both stated a broken torsion spring would be roughly $250-$400 each installed. The tech showed me a price of $1026. 20% higher than the high end of what was said. Knowing that a PAIR of springs could be purchased for less then $100. All you did was waste my time. I told your tech to leave. I am sure you won't post this. But this company is a complete scam. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to the state attorney general for fraud. Don't plan on any good reviews that I was so generously asked for while the tech was here.

The broken springs that Precision replaced months ago were undersized and may have lead to the subsequent premature failure of the garage door opener. When notified, a technician was scheduled to return; he quickly and efficiently removed the inadequate springs and provided the proper equipment. I would not recommend Precision Garage Door Service and did not use them to replace the opener.

We paid for a service call today and feel we got very little value for the $70 service call charge. The Techician basically diagnosed there was no problem in about 5 minutes, then would not even do a simple lubrication and other basic preventive maintenance without I believe another approximately $100 additional fee. And this all relates to a new garage door installed by Precision Door a year or so ago. We are long time Precision Door Customers and expect better value than this. We will consider the services of other Garage Door companies in the future as the need may arise. Brian Miller 210-347-3410

Response:

Dear Mr Miller, We want to thank you for the feedback on your service today. Our lead technician came out to inspect your door as you informed our call center that it was “making noise” that was uncommon since it was installed. Our technician did his inspection and deduced you just needed an annual tune-up. The tune-up special is to make any adjustments and lubricate our doors to keep them in the best shape possible for an extended period. The assessment and service cannot be completed by anyone but a qualified technician. We have a standard price for labor completed by our certified technicians, that is the price you were quoted for – a tune-up and labor. When you refused to pay for the service that you requested, our technician collected our pre-quoted service fee only. We would have waived that service fee if you had chosen to have the quoted service completed. This is all information you had prior to our technician arriving this morning. Refusing to pay a set labor charge is equivalent to having a trained technician do work for free. While we appreciate our customers we simply cannot keep the skilled staff we have employed without paying them fairly for their time and effort. We hope this breakdown helps to make clear how the technician created the quote you received and encourages you to keep us in mind for future service needed.

Poor. The technician came over upon my call. All I needed was a little adjustment in my door because it was closing uneven. The guy offered me a $348 plan to do maintenance on the door and fix it. I said no. Then he offered me a $144 plan which I don’t know what did it include. I said ok. In 5 minutes he fixed it. Horrible if I had said yes to the $348. Guys, please don’t do that.

But then informed me that they don’t work on Genie brand…. Wait, I said I had a Genie door opener??? So it was a bust. Don’t do the “29” point inspection. Which is the minimum for the service call, Offered up a 1000$ upgrade from my Genie. So I said okay “ so I still gotta pay the 59.95 fee”? Yep… you take a credit card? Yep. 2% service charge! Cash? Yep. Okay. Here’s 60$. Thanks…. Where’s my freaking change??? I want my nickel. Total freaking scam. I give them two ????????????????. Please give me my Nickle change. Dicks

When we called we asked for an estimate to replace a broken torsion spring. We were told they couldn’t give an estimate over the phone and needed to come out. The service tech gave us a price which we thought was questionable and when told that he said they should have given you a approximate price over the phone. Conflicting statements by employees. So we paid $99 for information that should have been given over the phone. Disgusting!

Following Hurricane Helene and the damage she left behind, we called your business. The repairman showed up as scheduled. He proceeded to begin the repair. When asked how much it was going to cost to replace the safety sensors on the garage doors, he replied "$500. per door to replace 4 sensors, totaling a $1,000." I decided to look up the price. They were $37.00 a pair! $75. for four! This was supposedly a hurricane special? Shame on you.

Response:

Thank you for reaching out Mr. Porter. After reviewing your invoice and the technician notes it does look like you were quoted the standard cost which is $250 per door to replace and wire in the new electronics and program them. The total would have been the $500 which was what was provided to you in the estimate written estimate. I do apologize if you misheard that number and doubled the price but please reference your written estimate which is the $250 pre door price you were quoted. You can always complete all home repairs as a homeowner at a lower price. It looks like we did not replace the sensors you house but since we do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee please reach out to our main office and speak with our General Manager about your service call. 941-351-2408 We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully this was able to clear up the miscommunication.

Service technician was thorough and fast and fixed the issue. However, they over charged me on the product by double. They charged me $800 for the opener and associated accessories. I found the exact opener online, with accessories included for $300, and that was the highest price. I feel I was railroaded here, as they knew I was up against it and needed the door fixed.

Response:

Nice speaking with you on the phone this afternoon when following up with this review. As discussed, our price is standard across the board. I hope don't get any type of retribution from this, but no diagnosis was done. Viewed a belt with missing track and the only solution was to replace the complete motor at a cost of $600dls. I can visually see a loose bracket which may be the problem or not. I assumed the service person would come with standard parts used to replace and repair. I'll be calling another still have to fix it. The track belt travels.

Response:

Dear Mr. Hernandez, Our technician came to your home this morning and gave you the diagnosis of a broken belt on a 15 year old garage door opener with a rail system that he could not repair. He offered to replace your existing opener with a more up to dat option. Replacing parts on a motor that old would be a temporary fix at best. Our technicians do have fully stocked trucks for repairing most garage door openers that were produced within the las 10 years, but we are unable to carry every part for every motor produced. We hope you will be able to find someone to help you and we recommend you give further consideration to replacing replacing older motor parts that will no doubt require a complete replacement in the very near future.

Job unfinished. The bottom molding was never in this current condition that it is now, warped and was not replaced by the tech. Tech confirmed with his supervisor who stated it was fine and the part is still under a 3 year warranty. This is the 2nd time within a year that this part has gotten bad.

Response:

Thanks again for speaking with me today Mr. Rego about your bottom seal. As explained to you, with the upgraded bottom seal it does have the extra protective flap on the back of the u-seal to mold and form to whatever surface it is pressed against. As evident in the pictures and from the last time we replaced it, the back flap is rubbing against the concrete floor cut out that the garage door sits in from whenever the house was built. This rubbing is what caused that same area to have the white scratch marks on the inside if the door seal both times. It is our pleasure to come out again and replace the seal under warranty with the expectation that it will continue to seal against that small area of concrete causing the same "lipping" effect on the inside, backside, of the seal. I am happy to hear the kind words about the technician and although you asked to have the review deleted after our conversation that is something I am not able to accomplish. You do have my direct line here at the main office so please do not hesitate to give me a call if you would like us to replace the seal again for you. Have a safe weekend.

The door opener was intentionally damaged by placing a wrench on the tract causing the motor to burn out. No effort was made to correct the issue.

Response:

To our readers, this false review is missing major details. The claim for this review is not true, and we believe Patricia knows this. She had called us out on 8/6/24 to have a look at 1 of her 3 garage doors and motors. All over 20 years of age. The one Precision was called out for was the far left garage door, that had a broken spring. The tech used vice grips to keep this door open safely while Precision Door did its safety inspection. After reviewing the options to address the door and its broken spring, Patricia elected not to get anything done, and Precision packed up and left. The tech did accidently leave his vice grips in the door. However the vice grips would have to be removed in order to close the door. On 9/12/24 38 days later Precision Door received this review. Which was the first time we were made aware of there being any issue. As there was no record of contact before the posting of this review. We sent a tech out the same day to have a look, and discovered the far left door still had a broken spring and was down. The vice grips were removed. But the motor in question that Precision is accused of burning out was the middle door. Which had a stripped gear and sprocket. The vice grips were never part of the middle door. And even if they were. The motor gears would have stripped out after the first use. Not 38 days later. After reviewing all our notes, photos and inspection reports. We believe this to be an attempt to exploit Precision Door Service for free services. Here at Precision Door, it is very rare for us to make a mistake that results in any damage. And Precision Door will always take responsibility even in some cases where we did nothing wrong. In Patricia's case and demeaner we are being accused of tampering a door, that burned out a motor. To which was not the original door of concern when we were first called out. And to the description of how the motor burned up, would have happened with one use. In one day. Not 38 days later. Patricia never used our services, therefore Precision Door feels no obligation to "correct the issue" that is the result of 20+ years of usage and no maintenance. On a door and motor we never touched or serviced. Thank you.

People were great. Unfortunately it took 2 months and 4 visits to install two garage doors. Wrong parts, ordering and warehouse issues, missing parts. I had to keep calling and following up in order to keep the install alive. Two months of opening our garage doors manually. It’s unclear where the breakdown occurred, but logistics and customer service seem to be a challenge for Precision. A series of mis-unfortunate events.

Response:

Mr. Sayers The only thing worse than getting a bad review is having earned that type of review. Unfortunately, in your case we did earn a poor review. We had a couple of bad months of receiving partial or incorrect orders from our door manufacture. The responsibility for bringing the incomplete doors to your house is 100% our fault. I have made several changes to our system to make sure that no one else faces the delay or frustration you have. We have changed the way we order doors, the way we check them in after receiving them and the people who do both of those things. I have also reached out to you to see if there is any way that I can make this bad situation any better. Feel free to call the office and ask to speak with the General Manager.

Hector refused to do anything because my husband told him that when it rained water leaked under the door. He told him the garage is crooked that the door is straight. My husband told him we never had water leak in with the wood door and he said it was because the door warped to fit the garage. Then he refused to address the problem of the rust around the nails and just said he was leaving and he left. Nothing done to fix either problem.

Your repair did not work! Later in the evening I went out for supper. The door opened just fine, but when I tried to close it, it did the bounce back open. I tried it a few more times with the same result. So I pulled the red handle and closed the door manually. When I returned from the restaurant it was the same failure. I spent over a hundred bucks and am no better off. What can we do now? I hope you have a better fix,

This was the worst vendor experience I have had. The appointment was from 10-12. He (Brandon) showed up at 2pm with no message update. We asked for our 7 garage doors to be serviced. He did not know what to charge us and had to call his boss. They came up with $50 per door. We asked about having a door installed on our barn. He said we don’t do commercial doors, but he has a buddy that he could refer us to. We went back to our 7 doors and he said “what do you want me to do”. I said we would like to have the doors serviced (oil, tighten. Adjusted). He went and got a spray can and sprayed to rollers in two doors, then stated he needed a ladder to do the RV garage door. I told him if all he was going to do was spray oil on the doors we would just stop after the two doors and I was not going to pay $50 bucks a door for all 7 doors. He was at our property 10 minutes and charged me $99 dollars to spray on two doors. Huge disappointment and I would never use this company again.

So now I have a damaged car, a damaged door and an opener that doesn’t work. Appointment this afternoon which I expect to be disappointing.

My garage door was not opening/closing, and the technician came to repair it for $200, but after “repairing” it, our garage door made weird, loud noises when opening and closing the garage door. Then I tried to open the garage door 2 days later and it broke again. I spoke with a rep online, and was assured that a technician would come out to fix the problem at no extra cost, as it was a callback. But on the day of the appointment, I received a call that my system was too old and I would have to pay over $1000 for a new system. I asked for a refund because they did not even come out to check on the problem, and why they charged me $200 for a half-assed job knowing that the garage door wasn’t completely fixed and my system was too old. They refused to give me a refund and offered a credit ONLY if I paid for the new system. I got frustrated, ended the call, and looked up a tutorial on YouTube and fixed my “old system” in less than 15 minutes. I was fooled by the amount of good reviews that I would be receiving a professional service but received the complete opposite. Would not recommend to anyone, very shady business.

I am not happy with technician. When I called Precision, they quoted me $339 to replace 2 springs. The Technician came out and told me that I needed to have 2 other springs (over $800). I told him that I just want a standard springs and he told me there will be no guarantee on the springs or his work. He later told me that something was wrong with the garage hinges. I told him that my garage worked fine (just had 1 broken spring) before he came out. I am really not happy with the service and I probably won't use your company again or refer to anyone.

The technician was great. He answered my questions. But when paying there was a $20.00 service charge that was NEVER mentioned up front. The schedulers said the price was $65.00 to get someone out to look at the door. Then when it was time to pay it is suddenly $85.00. What a way to put the service technicians in a BAD spot. Also they advertise same day service. I called early on a Saturday and the first time they could get someone to me was a Monday. Lots of inconsistencies with the company - not the workers who do all of the work on site.

One of the springs on our garage door broke so we called this company. We’ve had this happen before so knew that more than likely both springs would need to be replaced. When the technician came, he recommended to get the bearings done as well. I accepted his estimate And he did the work in about 45 minutes. Then my husband came home and saw that we had paid $1300 for the work and almost blew a gasket. It turns out that springs can be purchased at Home Depot for $75 apiece and bearings don’t cost that much more . So Precision Door applied a huge markup to the materials and charged an outrageous amount for the labor. They should be ashamed for taking advantage of seniors!

I recently used Precision Garage Door Services in Florida. They had fast availability, which was convenient. However, be aware of their prices. After negotiating the initial quote from $1,300 to $699, I realized they installed a much smaller size and lower HP garage door opener than what was discussed. To make matters worse, the same model and size of opener can be found elsewhere for just $159. Since I live in a gated community with over 100 homes, I will be informing the association so my neighbors are aware of this experience. While they are quick to respond, the value for money and transparency in their pricing leave much to be desired.

Your technician Matthew did not impress me at all. When he came in first thing he starts doing is measuring the garage door looking at all the rollers and other parts associated with the door and taking all kinds of pictures of everything on the door. I told him I had no issues with the door and hardware itself, my problem was with the garage door opener itself, the travel along the screwdrive was only about 8 inches and then it would reverse itself and stop. He looked reluctant to work on the garage door opener itself. He had to run to the truck to call someone at the office for advice with the opener. He said he's not familiar with Craftsman door openers. He ended up calling the lift Master technical support and told them of the problem I was having and they couldn't seem to be of any help either. I told him that I had changed the rpm sensor on the unit but that did not fix the problem, which was recommended in the troubleshooting guide. I thought he would have had replacement parts on his truck but he said that they don't carry parts for garage door openers on trucks that they have to order parts. It appeared to me that all he was trying to do was sell me a new garage door and that I was not interested, nor did I need a new door. It appeared to me he didn't have a clue as to how to repair garage door openers. So after he wrote me a bill for a service call he sat in his truck in front of my house for at least 1/2 hour then came to the door and asked if he could borrow my hose to put water in his truck because it was running hot, which was not a problem for me because I don't mind helping people who are in need of it.

I would not recommend this company. They quoted me one price over the phone, but when they came to my home, they quoted me a much higher price. They are very misleading. Manager Trevor was not helpful at all with the situation.

For the record, I would like to express my profound dissatisfaction with today’s service call. There was nothing done to test/confirm root cause for my garage door not working. Technician simply repeated what I told him (that I thought it was most likely a main circuit board issue) then proceeded to quote installation of new system. Basic LiftMaster system quoted at over $1K installed retails for less than $250. While I fully expect to pay more to have a professional do the installation for me, $1K is simply outrageous. I feel $500 installed would be more than fair. But not $1K+. I feel abused for paying $100+ service fee for a 15min visit from a technician that did not add any value other than presenting an abusive quote for system replacement. Call me is you care. Ready to express my disappointment with Precision Door to friends, family and via social media. JR Lorenzetti 919-645-7878

Bought a $75 garage door opener button. It didn't work well. Called Precision. They said they stand behind their work. I told them it will not go down when light is on. Service guys had to call boss to determine that the light bulb interfered with opener frequency. They replaced bulb and charged me $67.00 !!! Sad I have to pay for you to learn about what you sell. Sad you couldn't tell me on phone to change bulb!! Anyone want a light bulb changed, I'll do it for $50. 414-258-0246

Sensors not working. Quote $379 to fix. Would take 5 minutes if he has parts. Asked for how much are parts and labor? Said did not know company just gives a price. Looked up parts for the specific model. $15.97 to $32.97. He could not answer why they want $379 for a simple fix. I said no way for 5-10 minutes work. They Charged $49.95 to tell me what I told them was wrong. 5 minute discussion. I purchased the garage door opener from them previously. Suggest you go somewhere else for service. Poor actions on their part.

This firm stated that it would cost $1174 to swap out the torsion bar spring for a traditional garage door spring. After I balked at the unbelievable high price “Jeramy” said he’d call his manager to see if they could offer a discount. He came back with an adjusted price of $999!! Still too high in my thinking. Told Jeramy I’d seek a second quote and sent him on his way. I just had OS Garage Door Solutions fix the same door with the same fix that Precision was offering……for a grand total of $300!!!!!!. I sit on the HOA board of my 210 home Johns Creek subdivision. Our monthly meeting minutes are circulated to our residents. At our next meeting I will be mentioning the rip off price that Precision was trying to charge! I’ll also be leaving a similar negative message about Precision on NextDoor. Stay as far away from Precision as possible! I also checked at Lowe’s and for the price Precision was going to charge to replace a spring I could have put an entirely new garage door (with a new torsion spring system that had a ten year warranty) for $22 more than Precision wanted for a simple repair!!

Mechanics were very responsive . Called a number of times before they arrived to let me know where they were and when they would arrive onsite to repair I had called to have torsion spring replaced which had broken in 2. Cost of springs are under 100 dollars and 2 pulleys at either end should cost 25.00 .. Techs did an assume job which took no more than an hr. Was charged 179.00 from the start just to arrive with a total bill of 665.00 which seems excessive for parts that are under 100.00. Would not use again

Response:

Hi Peter. Thank you for the review, and thank you for taking time to talk with me on the phone, and allowing me to bring clarity to the cost of using Precision Door. For our readers to understand, and as I had mentioned the service charge to come out to your home was not $179, but $79 which was waived with repair. The parts used on your door were high cycle (long life). Rated to last longer then standard parts that would be found by a competitor or from the internet. Here at Precision Door we choose to invest in highest quality parts because we believe our customers deserve the best product and a long lasting functional garage door. I was very pleased to hear that the technicians that were at your home gave you confidence in the quality of their work, and were courteous. I am glad to hear that after our conversation you had more peace of mind with your investment in your garage door. Should you have any future questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call. 717-329-0119

Waited three weeks had to call them on updates on my garage door. When I called they told me the door was on the truck. Which that was 6/11 asked when can be put in asap, she told me they would have to unload it from the truck they would look it over to make sure the door is not damaged and all the parts are there with the door. She would give me a call back Wednesday and it could be install it on Friday 15 didn’t get a call. Again had to call them on Monday 17th to find out about my garage door. Lady told me it on the truck and it would get delivered to them tomorrow. This company sucks at communication. I would never recommend them to my friends or family. I’m ready to do with someone else.

I must say that the tech that came out was not only rude, he spent all of 5 minutes here telling me the garage door that I just paid $4400 4 months ago is working fine. Obviously if I called customer service to come out it’s not fine. It has been screeching and super loud since the install. The tech told me to lubricate and went on his merry way. I’d give this company an “F” for customer satisfaction.

When I called Precision and spoke with Dana to make the appointment I expected to pay what the advertised price said it was going to cost. When Justyn arrived there were added fees and the estimate ended up being over twice the advertised price. I immediately felt tricked and complained and Justyn brought the price lower but there was still an added fee. The price advertised is NOT the price you pay. Please ask questions.

Response:

Gina, thank you so much for speaking with our manager. We appreciate your feedback and we're happy to get this situation resolved for you. Please give us a call if you need anything in the future.
