Not transparent with the overall cost of the service.
wanted to replace garage door
I paid $1,143.13 to replace springs and bearings on a two car garage door and for a one year warranty! It took no more that 30-40 minutes at most to do the job. That’s really excessive. Both cars were trapped in the garage and I really needed access to them asap. Honestly I was not in a good position to look elsewhere and feel I really got taken by Precision Garage Door. Taking advantage of customers is not a great reputation to have. I really can’t recommend the company and feel it’s only fair to warn people of this kind of practice. “A neighborly company” really isn’t the case.
No, you did NOT meet expectations. I asked 2 people prior to your tech coming to my house about pricing. Both stated a broken torsion spring would be roughly $250-$400 each installed. The tech showed me a price of $1026. 20% higher than the high end of what was said. Knowing that a PAIR of springs could be purchased for less then $100. All you did was waste my time. I told your tech to leave. I am sure you won't post this. But this company is a complete scam. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to the state attorney general for fraud. Don't plan on any good reviews that I was so generously asked for while the tech was here.
The broken springs that Precision replaced months ago were undersized and may have lead to the subsequent premature failure of the garage door opener. When notified, a technician was scheduled to return; he quickly and efficiently removed the inadequate springs and provided the proper equipment. I would not recommend Precision Garage Door Service and did not use them to replace the opener.
The tech didn't want to even make any effort to try any other alternative way to open or fix the lock. Going forward, please don't send this tech to our house.
We paid for a service call today and feel we got very little value for the $70 service call charge. The Techician basically diagnosed there was no problem in about 5 minutes, then would not even do a simple lubrication and other basic preventive maintenance without I believe another approximately $100 additional fee. And this all relates to a new garage door installed by Precision Door a year or so ago. We are long time Precision Door Customers and expect better value than this. We will consider the services of other Garage Door companies in the future as the need may arise. Brian Miller 210-347-3410
Dear Mr Miller, We want to thank you for the feedback on your service today. Our lead technician came out to inspect your door as you informed our call center that it was “making noise” that was uncommon since it was installed. Our technician did his inspection and deduced you just needed an annual tune-up. The tune-up special is to make any adjustments and lubricate our doors to keep them in the best shape possible for an extended period. The assessment and service cannot be completed by anyone but a qualified technician. We have a standard price for labor completed by our certified technicians, that is the price you were quoted for – a tune-up and labor. When you refused to pay for the service that you requested, our technician collected our pre-quoted service fee only. We would have waived that service fee if you had chosen to have the quoted service completed. This is all information you had prior to our technician arriving this morning. Refusing to pay a set labor charge is equivalent to having a trained technician do work for free. While we appreciate our customers we simply cannot keep the skilled staff we have employed without paying them fairly for their time and effort. We hope this breakdown helps to make clear how the technician created the quote you received and encourages you to keep us in mind for future service needed.
Poor. The technician came over upon my call. All I needed was a little adjustment in my door because it was closing uneven. The guy offered me a $348 plan to do maintenance on the door and fix it. I said no. Then he offered me a $144 plan which I don’t know what did it include. I said ok. In 5 minutes he fixed it. Horrible if I had said yes to the $348. Guys, please don’t do that.
Called. Told them what kind of garage door opener I had. Told them the issue, explained the situation…. Ok, cool well someone over, Showed up early????????. But then informed me that they don’t work on Genie brand…. Wait, I said I had a Genie door opener??? So it was a bust. Don’t do the “29” point inspection. Which is the minimum for the service call, Offered up a 1000$ upgrade from my Genie. So I said okay “ so I still gotta pay the 59.95 fee”? Yep… you take a credit card? Yep. 2% service charge! Cash? Yep. Okay. Here’s 60$. Thanks…. Where’s my freaking change??? I want my nickel. Total freaking scam. I give them two ????????????????. Please give me my Nickle change. Dicks
When we called we asked for an estimate to replace a broken torsion spring. We were told they couldn’t give an estimate over the phone and needed to come out. The service tech gave us a price which we thought was questionable and when told that he said they should have given you a approximate price over the phone. Conflicting statements by employees. So we paid $99 for information that should have been given over the phone. Disgusting!
Following Hurricane Helene and the damage she left behind, we called your business. The repairman showed up as scheduled. He proceeded to begin the repair. When asked how much it was going to cost to replace the safety sensors on the garage doors, he replied "$500. per door to replace 4 sensors, totaling a $1,000." I decided to look up the price. They were $37.00 a pair! $75. for four! This was supposedly a hurricane special? Shame on you.
Thank you for reaching out Mr. Porter. After reviewing your invoice and the technician notes it does look like you were quoted the standard cost which is $250 per door to replace and wire in the new electronics and program them. The total would have been the $500 which was what was provided to you in the estimate written estimate. I do apologize if you misheard that number and doubled the price but please reference your written estimate which is the $250 pre door price you were quoted. You can always complete all home repairs as a homeowner at a lower price. It looks like we did not replace the sensors you house but since we do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee please reach out to our main office and speak with our General Manager about your service call. 941-351-2408 We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully this was able to clear up the miscommunication.
when i called i asked if you serviced genie brand opener was told yes, your tech came very nice guy tried a few things but said you dont service genie openers..wasted a day of me getting mine fixed because your customer service doesnt know what products you service
Service technician was thorough and fast and fixed the issue. However, they over charged me on the product by double. They charged me $800 for the opener and associated accessories. I found the exact opener online, with accessories included for $300, and that was the highest price. I feel I was railroaded here, as they knew I was up against it and needed the door fixed.
Nice speaking with you on the phone this afternoon when following up with this review. As discussed, our price is standard across the board. We do not charge more for one customer than another unless they present a qualified coupon. You were presented multiple options for your situation. You agreed to the price and work before it was started. We are sorry we couldn’t be closer to the pricing Amazon offers without installation.
Did not receive a receipt
Problem not corrected
I hope don't get any type of retribution from this, but no diagnosis was done. Viewed a belt with missing track and the only solution was to replace the complete motor at a cost of $600dls. I can visually see a loose bracket which may be the problem or not. I assumed the service person would come with standard parts used to replace and repair. I'll be calling another still have to fix it. The track belt travels.
Dear Mr. Hernandez, Our technician came to your home this morning and gave you the diagnosis of a broken belt on a 15 year old garage door opener with a rail system that he could not repair. He offered to replace your existing opener with a more up to dat option. Replacing parts on a motor that old would be a temporary fix at best. Our technicians do have fully stocked trucks for repairing most garage door openers that were produced within the las 10 years, but we are unable to carry every part for every motor produced. We hope you will be able to find someone to help you and we recommend you give further consideration to replacing replacing older motor parts that will no doubt require a complete replacement in the very near future.
Well I was very disappointed because no one told me that there one hour labor is $200 they have told me about the fee for coming out but not what they charge an hour. Of course did not have any work done with them they got the $85 for coming out . Will babe we use again.
They installed my garage door and 3 1/2 Year later it started rusting on the horizontal edges where moisture and dew accumulate.l called the manager and he said he will send an employee out to look at and he took pictures. They sent me an email saying that I pressure washed my garage door and that voided my warranty . Well I didn't pressure wash my door and I have never had my house pressure washed . So I would stay away from this company. There commercials are so annoying every time I see one so full of crap!!!!
Thank you for reaching out with your review. It looks we installed your doors in 2016 and have not had any contact with you or anyone at the residence since 2020. We did reach out to you to verify the review and left you a voicemail. Please feel free to contact our main office if you do have any issues with the doors. 941-351-2408.
Job unfinished. The bottom molding was never in this current condition that it is now, warped and was not replaced by the tech. Tech confirmed with his supervisor who stated it was fine and the part is still under a 3 year warranty. This is the 2nd time within a year that this part has gotten bad.
Thanks again for speaking with me today Mr. Rego about your bottom seal. As explained to you, with the upgraded bottom seal it does have the extra protective flap on the back of the u-seal to mold and form to whatever surface it is pressed against. As evident in the pictures and from the last time we replaced it, the back flap is rubbing against the concrete floor cut out that the garage door sits in from whenever the house was built. This rubbing is what caused that same area to have the white scratch marks on the inside if the door seal both times. It is our pleasure to come out again and replace the seal under warranty with the expectation that it will continue to seal against that small area of concrete causing the same "lipping" effect on the inside, backside, of the seal. I am happy to hear the kind words about the technician and although you asked to have the review deleted after our conversation that is something I am not able to accomplish. You do have my direct line here at the main office so please do not hesitate to give me a call if you would like us to replace the seal again for you. Have a safe weekend.
The door opener was intentionally damaged by placing a wrench on the tract causing the motor to burn out. No effort was made to correct the issue.
To our readers, this false review is missing major details. The claim for this review is not true, and we believe Patricia knows this. She had called us out on 8/6/24 to have a look at 1 of her 3 garage doors and motors. All over 20 years of age. The one Precision was called out for was the far left garage door, that had a broken spring. The tech used vice grips to keep this door open safely while Precision Door did its safety inspection. After reviewing the options to address the door and its broken spring, Patricia elected not to get anything done, and Precision packed up and left. The tech did accidently leave his vice grips in the door. However the vice grips would have to be removed in order to close the door. On 9/12/24 38 days later Precision Door received this review. Which was the first time we were made aware of there being any issue. As there was no record of contact before the posting of this review. We sent a tech out the same day to have a look, and discovered the far left door still had a broken spring and was down. The vice grips were removed. But the motor in question that Precision is accused of burning out was the middle door. Which had a stripped gear and sprocket. The vice grips were never part of the middle door. And even if they were. The motor gears would have stripped out after the first use. Not 38 days later. After reviewing all our notes, photos and inspection reports. We believe this to be an attempt to exploit Precision Door Service for free services. Here at Precision Door, it is very rare for us to make a mistake that results in any damage. And Precision Door will always take responsibility even in some cases where we did nothing wrong. In Patricia's case and demeaner we are being accused of tampering a door, that burned out a motor. To which was not the original door of concern when we were first called out. And to the description of how the motor burned up, would have happened with one use. In one day. Not 38 days later. Patricia never used our services, therefore Precision Door feels no obligation to "correct the issue" that is the result of 20+ years of usage and no maintenance. On a door and motor we never touched or serviced. Thank you.
The tech showed up and wanted to charge us $2000 for garage door repairs or $1200 for a partial repair. A $70 service charge…transparency would be appreciated, put your charges on the website.
I thought I had signed up to get an estimate on getting a automatic door opener from my garage door. I did not know that there would be a fee associated with this estimate. I guess I will learn to read the fine print! Not happy that I am having to pay money for an estimate
People were great. Unfortunately it took 2 months and 4 visits to install two garage doors. Wrong parts, ordering and warehouse issues, missing parts. I had to keep calling and following up in order to keep the install alive. Two months of opening our garage doors manually. It’s unclear where the breakdown occurred, but logistics and customer service seem to be a challenge for Precision. A series of mis-unfortunate events.
Mr. Sayers The only thing worse than getting a bad review is having earned that type of review. Unfortunately, in your case we did earn a poor review. We had a couple of bad months of receiving partial or incorrect orders from our door manufacture. The responsibility for bringing the incomplete doors to your house is 100% our fault. I have made several changes to our system to make sure that no one else faces the delay or frustration you have. We have changed the way we order doors, the way we check them in after receiving them and the people who do both of those things. I have also reached out to you to see if there is any way that I can make this bad situation any better. Feel free to call the office and ask to speak with the General Manager.
You have to get more employees. Seth is a very good professional man and you people (management) are assigning his poor guy all over the state of Maine. You are running this guy ragged and it is effecting customer service. My honest opinion and you can take it or leave it.
Hi William, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We appreciate your recognition of Seth’s professionalism and understand your concerns. As a company that’s only three months old, we are growing rapidly to meet the demands of our customers. In fact, we currently have three new technicians in training to help ensure that we can continue delivering the best service across Maine. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we are working hard to strengthen our team and improve our service. If you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to grow. Thank you for choosing Precision Garage Door Service of Portland ME!
Hector refused to do anything because my husband told him that when it rained water leaked under the door. He told him the garage is crooked that the door is straight. My husband told him we never had water leak in with the wood door and he said it was because the door warped to fit the garage. Then he refused to address the problem of the rust around the nails and just said he was leaving and he left. Nothing done to fix either problem.
Your repair did not work! Later in the evening I went out for supper. The door opened just fine, but when I tried to close it, it did the bounce back open. I tried it a few more times with the same result. So I pulled the red handle and closed the door manually. When I returned from the restaurant it was the same failure. I spent over a hundred bucks and am no better off. What can we do now? I hope you have a better fix,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I'm truly sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with your garage door after the repair. This is definitely not the experience we aim to provide, and I understand how frustrating it must be. To resolve this, we will be reaching out shortly to arrange for one of our technicians to revisit your home and address the issue as quickly as possible. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we want to make sure that you’re completely happy with the service you receive. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make this right.
This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Quoted a price over $1700 to fix a broken garage door spring!
You guys completely screwed me with your prices. Precision was always my first call when I had an issue and I never price shipped thinking you guys were an honest company. I was charged $642 to install ONE spring. The very next day my neighbor had the exact spring failure that I did and got BOTH SPRINGS AND BEARING DONE FOR $550!!! They used the same springs that you guys used also. I will be writing reviews everywhere and spreading the word to my neighbors as well.
This was the worst vendor experience I have had. The appointment was from 10-12. He (Brandon) showed up at 2pm with no message update. We asked for our 7 garage doors to be serviced. He did not know what to charge us and had to call his boss. They came up with $50 per door. We asked about having a door installed on our barn. He said we don’t do commercial doors, but he has a buddy that he could refer us to. We went back to our 7 doors and he said “what do you want me to do”. I said we would like to have the doors serviced (oil, tighten. Adjusted). He went and got a spray can and sprayed to rollers in two doors, then stated he needed a ladder to do the RV garage door. I told him if all he was going to do was spray oil on the doors we would just stop after the two doors and I was not going to pay $50 bucks a door for all 7 doors. He was at our property 10 minutes and charged me $99 dollars to spray on two doors. Huge disappointment and I would never use this company again.
Even tough I was initially pleased with the work I realize that I have spent over $1900 in the last three months with precision with $1530 of that being spent yesterday on a new opener, springs etc. this morning while leaving for work the new opener shut the door on our suv resulting in paint damage and a bent up panel on the door. So now I have a damaged car, a damaged door and an opener that doesn’t work. Appointment this afternoon which I expect to be disappointing.
My garage door was not opening/closing, and the technician came to repair it for $200, but after “repairing” it, our garage door made weird, loud noises when opening and closing the garage door. Then I tried to open the garage door 2 days later and it broke again. I spoke with a rep online, and was assured that a technician would come out to fix the problem at no extra cost, as it was a callback. But on the day of the appointment, I received a call that my system was too old and I would have to pay over $1000 for a new system. I asked for a refund because they did not even come out to check on the problem, and why they charged me $200 for a half-assed job knowing that the garage door wasn’t completely fixed and my system was too old. They refused to give me a refund and offered a credit ONLY if I paid for the new system. I got frustrated, ended the call, and looked up a tutorial on YouTube and fixed my “old system” in less than 15 minutes. I was fooled by the amount of good reviews that I would be receiving a professional service but received the complete opposite. Would not recommend to anyone, very shady business.
The guy that showed up was nice, But he didn’t fix it !!!! Said he needs to change it so the torsion springs was in the middle, And he can’t just fix the spring had to do all this work At $1400.00 really!! And I paid $60.00 dollars for a Service call ,I called a another garage company They came right away temporary fixed it so we could use it ! Came the two days later FIXED it !! For $350.00 Great guys I will never recommend you guys to anyone PS I see your commercials on TV and you Guys can fix 5 doors a day !! Very sad Thank you Ed Plumadore
After calling 4 times over 10 days attempting to schedule the work I was quoted for I simply gave up. No one returned calls, I was told twice that “an urgent message was sent to the team to call you”…nothing. I called the guy who came out and gave me the quote twice, left a voicemail, nothing. Don’t waste you time with this company.
I am not happy with technician. When I called Precision, they quoted me $339 to replace 2 springs. The Technician came out and told me that I needed to have 2 other springs (over $800). I told him that I just want a standard springs and he told me there will be no guarantee on the springs or his work. He later told me that something was wrong with the garage hinges. I told him that my garage worked fine (just had 1 broken spring) before he came out. I am really not happy with the service and I probably won't use your company again or refer to anyone.
Payton is a blessing to work with.
The technician was great. He answered my questions. But when paying there was a $20.00 service charge that was NEVER mentioned up front. The schedulers said the price was $65.00 to get someone out to look at the door. Then when it was time to pay it is suddenly $85.00. What a way to put the service technicians in a BAD spot. Also they advertise same day service. I called early on a Saturday and the first time they could get someone to me was a Monday. Lots of inconsistencies with the company - not the workers who do all of the work on site.
One of the springs on our garage door broke so we called this company. We’ve had this happen before so knew that more than likely both springs would need to be replaced. When the technician came, he recommended to get the bearings done as well. I accepted his estimate And he did the work in about 45 minutes. Then my husband came home and saw that we had paid $1300 for the work and almost blew a gasket. It turns out that springs can be purchased at Home Depot for $75 apiece and bearings don’t cost that much more . So Precision Door applied a huge markup to the materials and charged an outrageous amount for the labor. They should be ashamed for taking advantage of seniors!
I recently used Precision Garage Door Services in Florida. They had fast availability, which was convenient. However, be aware of their prices. After negotiating the initial quote from $1,300 to $699, I realized they installed a much smaller size and lower HP garage door opener than what was discussed. To make matters worse, the same model and size of opener can be found elsewhere for just $159. Since I live in a gated community with over 100 homes, I will be informing the association so my neighbors are aware of this experience. While they are quick to respond, the value for money and transparency in their pricing leave much to be desired.
Overhead door rep reset all in 15 mins… was no mechanical issues.
Your technician Matthew did not impress me at all. When he came in first thing he starts doing is measuring the garage door looking at all the rollers and other parts associated with the door and taking all kinds of pictures of everything on the door. I told him I had no issues with the door and hardware itself, my problem was with the garage door opener itself, the travel along the screwdrive was only about 8 inches and then it would reverse itself and stop. He looked reluctant to work on the garage door opener itself. He had to run to the truck to call someone at the office for advice with the opener. He said he's not familiar with Craftsman door openers. He ended up calling the lift Master technical support and told them of the problem I was having and they couldn't seem to be of any help either. I told him that I had changed the rpm sensor on the unit but that did not fix the problem, which was recommended in the troubleshooting guide. I thought he would have had replacement parts on his truck but he said that they don't carry parts for garage door openers on trucks that they have to order parts. It appeared to me that all he was trying to do was sell me a new garage door and that I was not interested, nor did I need a new door. It appeared to me he didn't have a clue as to how to repair garage door openers. So after he wrote me a bill for a service call he sat in his truck in front of my house for at least 1/2 hour then came to the door and asked if he could borrow my hose to put water in his truck because it was running hot, which was not a problem for me because I don't mind helping people who are in need of it.
I would not recommend this company. They quoted me one price over the phone, but when they came to my home, they quoted me a much higher price. They are very misleading. Manager Trevor was not helpful at all with the situation.
There is no negative star, so I am unable to select one.
For the record, I would like to express my profound dissatisfaction with today’s service call. There was nothing done to test/confirm root cause for my garage door not working. Technician simply repeated what I told him (that I thought it was most likely a main circuit board issue) then proceeded to quote installation of new system. Basic LiftMaster system quoted at over $1K installed retails for less than $250. While I fully expect to pay more to have a professional do the installation for me, $1K is simply outrageous. I feel $500 installed would be more than fair. But not $1K+. I feel abused for paying $100+ service fee for a 15min visit from a technician that did not add any value other than presenting an abusive quote for system replacement. Call me is you care. Ready to express my disappointment with Precision Door to friends, family and via social media. JR Lorenzetti 919-645-7878
Bought a $75 garage door opener button. It didn't work well. Called Precision. They said they stand behind their work. I told them it will not go down when light is on. Service guys had to call boss to determine that the light bulb interfered with opener frequency. They replaced bulb and charged me $67.00 !!! Sad I have to pay for you to learn about what you sell. Sad you couldn't tell me on phone to change bulb!! Anyone want a light bulb changed, I'll do it for $50. 414-258-0246
Sensors not working. Quote $379 to fix. Would take 5 minutes if he has parts. Asked for how much are parts and labor? Said did not know company just gives a price. Looked up parts for the specific model. $15.97 to $32.97. He could not answer why they want $379 for a simple fix. I said no way for 5-10 minutes work. They Charged $49.95 to tell me what I told them was wrong. 5 minute discussion. I purchased the garage door opener from them previously. Suggest you go somewhere else for service. Poor actions on their part.
Was told when i set up appt that individual oanels could be replaced. Waited a week for appt and when tech got here he said they couldnt replace coplay panels as they dont make them. In future recommend person taking appt ask question on phone so everyones time is not wasted
This firm stated that it would cost $1174 to swap out the torsion bar spring for a traditional garage door spring. After I balked at the unbelievable high price “Jeramy” said he’d call his manager to see if they could offer a discount. He came back with an adjusted price of $999!! Still too high in my thinking. Told Jeramy I’d seek a second quote and sent him on his way. I just had OS Garage Door Solutions fix the same door with the same fix that Precision was offering……for a grand total of $300!!!!!!. I sit on the HOA board of my 210 home Johns Creek subdivision. Our monthly meeting minutes are circulated to our residents. At our next meeting I will be mentioning the rip off price that Precision was trying to charge! I’ll also be leaving a similar negative message about Precision on NextDoor. Stay as far away from Precision as possible! I also checked at Lowe’s and for the price Precision was going to charge to replace a spring I could have put an entirely new garage door (with a new torsion spring system that had a ten year warranty) for $22 more than Precision wanted for a simple repair!!
Mechanics were very responsive . Called a number of times before they arrived to let me know where they were and when they would arrive onsite to repair I had called to have torsion spring replaced which had broken in 2. Cost of springs are under 100 dollars and 2 pulleys at either end should cost 25.00 .. Techs did an assume job which took no more than an hr. Was charged 179.00 from the start just to arrive with a total bill of 665.00 which seems excessive for parts that are under 100.00. Would not use again
Hi Peter. Thank you for the review, and thank you for taking time to talk with me on the phone, and allowing me to bring clarity to the cost of using Precision Door. For our readers to understand, and as I had mentioned the service charge to come out to your home was not $179, but $79 which was waived with repair. The parts used on your door were high cycle (long life). Rated to last longer then standard parts that would be found by a competitor or from the internet. Here at Precision Door we choose to invest in highest quality parts because we believe our customers deserve the best product and a long lasting functional garage door. I was very pleased to hear that the technicians that were at your home gave you confidence in the quality of their work, and were courteous. I am glad to hear that after our conversation you had more peace of mind with your investment in your garage door. Should you have any future questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call. 717-329-0119
Waited three weeks had to call them on updates on my garage door. When I called they told me the door was on the truck. Which that was 6/11 asked when can be put in asap, she told me they would have to unload it from the truck they would look it over to make sure the door is not damaged and all the parts are there with the door. She would give me a call back Wednesday and it could be install it on Friday 15 didn’t get a call. Again had to call them on Monday 17th to find out about my garage door. Lady told me it on the truck and it would get delivered to them tomorrow. This company sucks at communication. I would never recommend them to my friends or family. I’m ready to do with someone else.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the experience you've had with our service. It's clear from your review that we fell short of meeting your expectations, especially in terms of communication and timeliness regarding your garage door installation. We understand how frustrating it must have been to experience delays and lack of updates throughout this process. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide to our valued customers. We are currently reviewing our internal processes to ensure that instances like this are addressed promptly and do not happen again in the future. Please know that your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we take it very seriously. If there's anything further we can do to assist you or if you have any additional concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. We would appreciate the opportunity to make things right for you. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. We hope to regain your trust throughout the remainder of the installation process and earn the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
I must say that the tech that came out was not only rude, he spent all of 5 minutes here telling me the garage door that I just paid $4400 4 months ago is working fine. Obviously if I called customer service to come out it’s not fine. It has been screeching and super loud since the install. The tech told me to lubricate and went on his merry way. I’d give this company an “F” for customer satisfaction.
When I called Precision and spoke with Dana to make the appointment I expected to pay what the advertised price said it was going to cost. When Justyn arrived there were added fees and the estimate ended up being over twice the advertised price. I immediately felt tricked and complained and Justyn brought the price lower but there was still an added fee. The price advertised is NOT the price you pay. Please ask questions.
Gina, thank you so much for speaking with our manager. We appreciate your feedback and we're happy to get this situation resolved for you. Please give us a call if you need anything in the future.
I will never do business with your company again you guys are a rip off and you charge way too much you take advantage of people that's my personal opinion
Carlos was rude and obnoxious. Carlos advised me to call the last company that was out before. Carlos refused to replace the opener and slammed my door. Claimed the door was not closing easy and quoted me additional unexpected fees. was hurt being a disable Veteran and a senior citizen. I expected better services I feel Carlos customer service skills need lots of help.
Rapid response was great. Upsell was not. needed 1 spring quoted $300 per spring (yes you do need to replace both even if only one is broken) and then magically was told that my motor no longer worked and needed to be replaced to the tune of anywhere from $1500-$2000. also noted some bearing issues.got a second opinion got the two springs replaced for $280. The motor works just fine and the bearings just needed an adjusted. Got a second opinion got the two springs replaced for $280. The motor works just fine and the bearings just needed a side plate adjusted. the upsell was so significant that I believe it equates to a rip off.
Scheduled an inspection for the garage door not closing properly, guy came in second time (after no show on the first appointment) he checked the garage and gave recommendations for upgrades. He did not find any issues and still charged $85. When asked him to program my Car with garage he was asking additional $25 which does not make sense. Very poor service would not recommend to anyone. Be very sure before calling them
Poor service. Money making business.
I chose Precision for a new garage door because I thought they would back the products they sold. Not True! My garage door was under a 15 year paint warranty. I had the door installed six years ago; however, the door's paint is now fading in areas and the door is rusting. I was also told it was a hurricane door. Believing that Precision would guarantee the door, I contacted them, but I was told that the warranty was held by a company called Ammar, and that it would be difficult to have Ammar repair the door. I contacted Ammar and was told that the door's rust would have to cause holes before they were going to do anything. I then contacted Precision again, and again I was told they just install the doors; they are not responsible for defects. The hurricane door??? Two inspections says it is not! I requested Precision to send me a letter stating they put in a hurricane proof door, and they agreed. There has been NO letter to support what I paid for. Precision's story has changed now that I need them to follow through on what I was originally told by them when they were selling me the door.
Maureen, Thank you for your feedback. I truly do apologize that Amarr is not covering this under warranty. Unfortunately, they have guidelines that we have to follow and always try to be fully transparent with customers when purchasing a door what warranties are through us and what warranties are through the manufacturer. All new doors we install meet or exceed the local building code requirements. The door we installed is hurricane rated to 130 MPH. This door was permitted and approved by the City of Atlantic Beach. Please double check your spam folder for an email sent from mabraham@precisiondoorfl.com as our records show we sent it on 5/24/24 at 3:32pm. Again, I am truly sorry about the experience you are going through and wish there was more in our control.
The guy that came to install my Garage Door trim molding didn’t seem knowledgeable at all. I had to explain to him basic installation steps. His customer service was horrible. The guy that installed my motor a couple of weeks ago did an amazing job and was very knowledgeable. To bad I couldn’t get the original guy back.
Spent about $230 and it still does not work three days later. Called back to speak to supervisor and was told a supervisor was not available but would “call back sometime today.” Service was a complete waste of money.
The worse service I have ever received! The person I talked to on phone DID NOT work for company OR did not understand my issue. The repair guy came out. In less than 2 minutes said he could not repair the opener and could install a new one for an unbelievable $649.00!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING! I then had to pay him $69.95 for absolutely nothing. If the women on the phone would have been honest with me, I could have saved $69.95. I went to Menards, bought a name brand opener AND installed it in LESS than 2 hours! I would have paid up to $300.00 BUT $649.00???!!!!! NO F#*KIN WAY! I will be reporting this to the BBB!
I had one spring break on one of my garage doors which needed to be fixed. I told the representative (Chris) that I was moving in less than a week and was just interested in getting the spring replaced and the door operating. Chris told me that he couldn't just fix the one spring but had to do an inspection and then he would give me a quote to fix the door "the right way". He did his inspection and then after about 20 minutes provided me with two quotes, one for over $900 and the other for over $1200. Chris suggested that if I just wanted the spring fixed I should get a handyman! I called you because over the last twenty years I have used you for repairs. It cost me $80 to have you come out and accomplish nothing but try to make a lot of money off of me. I was able to buy a new spring at Home Depot and my neighbor installed it for me in less than an hour and the door is working fine, which is what I needed! I got two new springs at Home Depot for a little over $20. This experience now has me questioning how much I was overcharged in the past. I will never use your company nor recommend you again!!
Very bad experience. Didn’t attempt to fix anything and only talking about replacing about replacing about opener and four other parts which are barely 2 years old. Told to fasten one screw and he replied that he needs one hour labour. Very rude and unprofessional. I will never go with this company again.
very expensive. He replaced a spring and rollers in less than an hour and charged $1080. The only good thing is respond 2 hours after I called.
Hi Mr. Larson, I'm sorry that you had a negative experience. Our Customer Service Manager reached out to you to better understand your experience, but was unable to leave a voicemail. Our technicians are very experienced and are sometimes able to complete their jobs and quickly get our customers back with a smoothly functioning door. Having technicians available and fully stocked is part of our business, and I'm glad that you were able to have a technician in your home two hours after you called. Please reach out to us, if you would like to discuss your service further.
I wish I had read the reviews before scheduling an appointment. Find someone who will give you a free estimate! This place seems like a scam built on overcharging people on purpose to get the $130 service fee "just for coming out" as many times as possible. Here is my whole experience. I had to replace a snapped cable. I was quoted $700 for the replacement of the cable and spring, which far exceeds the normal range of $200-$500. I was also quoted $1,100 for the conversion to a torsion rod system, again far exceeding the normal range of $400-$800. I felt trapped in accepting overpayment since I'd have to pay them the $130 for coming out even if I told them to go away because their quote was ridiculously high. The itemized receipt you receive is a joke. Learn from my mistake: only deal with garage repair places that will give you free estimates. That aside, the technician did an excellent, quick, and efficient job. They were obviously very knowledgeable about garage doors. They were here for ~2 hours, and I had to pay $2308 to convert two doors to a torsion rod system. If you're looking to do a similar project, find someone who will do it for $1600 or less.
The techs were friendly and accommodating, although they showed up over 3 hours late. The tech who sold me the solution, Dmitri, charged me nearly $1000. After waiting nearly 2 weeks to hear back, I called into the office to find out no one did anything. I then paid, in full, over the phone, to get the job scheduled. Then, while fixing my door, they discovered another issue and the fix is an additional $1500. This is straight up crooked. I've been without a garage for almost a month now and after spending $1000, I still do not have a garage to use. I feel as though this was a bait and switch. Dmitri also promised to tune up my 2nd garage as part of the plan. It doesn't appear it was even touched. I am extremely unhappy and need someone to call me and find a fix for this.
I am so very disappointed with Precision. Why? Because when I scheduled my home visit I provided that what needed repair was my Sears Craftsman1/2 H.P. and when the repair tec arrived he said that Precision did not do repairs and he suggested that I replace it with a company model. Again, why schedule a visit for a garage door opener that Precision has no parts for. What a scam! I had to pay for a visit for something that Precision could not repair and was very willing to replace with a Precision stock item. NO SERVICE WAS DONE I did the repair by only replacing the missing chain link. If you are wondering why waited this long to reply it was because if my experience with Precision was so very bad what would Precision Customer Service do. What a scam. NO REPAIR SERVICE WAS DONE. Please take me off your mailing list and I will tell others not to do business with Precision. NO REPAIR SERVICE WAS DONE. Isaac K. Capuchino
Hi Mr. Capuchino, We are sorry that you have had a negative experience. We strive to make all of our customers satisfied. Our customer service manager has reached out to you, but he has been unable to contact you or leave a voicemail. Our technicians carry parts for many openers, but unfortunately, they can't carry parts for all opener models. Our call attendant should have made this clear in your call. Thanks for your input and we will use it to refine our call attendant procedures to better communicate in the future.
Very disappointing. The service representative did little to troubleshoot my garage door opener problem. In fact he went on to tell me the opener was shot and that I needed to go up from a 1/2 horsepower to a 3/4 horsepower motor (hogwash). He went on to say the garage door needed to be replaced. I didn’t take the bait. I called another garage door company. Their service rep took one look at my door and knew exactly what was wrong. He had the opener running properly in one minute. I’ll never dial up Precision Door again. The rep tried to totally rip me off at the tune of $5,000.
The most dishonest and misleading company i have ever delt with. Will not stand behind there product and workmanship.
More expensive than other companies.
Awful service. Seemed to be nice and helpful upfront, but tried to tell me I would need a whole new opener and rails for 1800. We got a second opinion on this and the other garage door company solved the problem in less than ten minutes only costing us $75. Thankful I didn’t go with this company’s advice.
They charged me $80 to tell me that my garage door was too old for them to service. Why wouldn't they ask how old the appliance is before sending someone out? Seems like they're intentionally trying to rip people off.
I just got gouged!! They installed approximately $200 worth of springs (I checked the internet), it took 45 minutes to complete the job, and I was charged $837. That is approximately $637 in labor for a 45 minute job. This company hides their actual pricing in the cost of the springs, but do yourself a favor and shop around.
The man sent said he could not make the repair and was not very personable. Totally disgusting. Another company did a superb job with a outstanding repairman who went the extra mile for us.
Ben, We spoke with Brendan, and fully support his decision not to tie together the broken cable on your opener. The fix you requested would not have been safe or long term, and certainly not the kind of quality work we could put the Precision name behind. We are glad you found someone to do things the way you requested.
Very poor experience.
I had broken rubber belt and guy told me I need to change all components in my garage(10y old) with estimate 850$. Ripp off big time. Call different company and they have no problems with replacing just a belt.
Please be aware they charge a $120 fee to diagnose your problem if you do not schedule the repair. We were not made aware of this when scheduling the appointment. $120 is excessive for a 5 minute consultation. Lesson learned here.
My experience with the technician left me feeling misled and dissatisfied. Initially, he advised against repairing a minor dent on the panel, citing changes made to the wire and roller, which they claimed were necessary. Despite the actual issue being a small dent, they quoted me around $500 for repairs or $890 for panel replacement, warning that the door wouldn't function properly without the replacement. Reluctantly, I opted for the panel replacement after considering the prices. Surprisingly, he performed a temporary fix and left. The door continues to function perfectly and is eventually replaced. after the fix, I knew that the door could have functioned without the costly replacement. To make matters worse, I sign a document agreeing not to change my mind about the repair, if change I have to pay $500 charge if I did. Feeling deceived, I realized that I hadn't seen evidence of the wire and other components they claimed to have replaced. It's disappointing to feel taken advantage of, especially by a representative of a company with a seemingly reputable rating
I purchased my garage door at Precision in 2014. I was very happy with the door and the service. In 2017 my garage door was making a lot of noise, so I called, the Precision’s technician said it needed new rollers, I said ok. After he replaced the rollers it was still making noise. He said that’s because of the weight or something. I don’t remember exactly what his answer was. Two weeks later my garage came down the spring broke. So I called someone else because the last Precision tech. misdiagnosed the problem. Now present day I called and was not happy with the price quote or the service I received, He seemed irritated probably because I was and couldn’t find my receipt and also couldn’t remember the circumstances from 7 years ago. Also any company that misspells a customers name doesn’t project a lot of confidence…My name is Shirl Collins.
I am intimidated by the quoite which the technician came up to replace the springs is over $800.00 plus other things tacked along to exceed the quote by $1,000. The original company who installed the doors quote upfront $315.00 to replace the springs which included the complete tuneup. I wish the Precision Garage door service was honest up front ane quoted reasonable price for the replacement of the springs on the garage doors. Honesty alway wins the game.
Very disappointed. Paid $170 for them to oil rollers. Original call was for them to reprogram the keypad and it couldn’t get done because they don’t work on that specific brand. Never using them or referring anyone!
We are aggrieved to hear of your dissatisfaction with our services as we do strive to make our customers feel they are getting the most value out of their garage door service. Our technician was indeed unable to make the requested repairs to your existing opener as it is a brand we do not carry. Aaron did however, provide you with options for the services he could complete that day. The tune-up special was the option you chose to go forward with totaling $159.95 instead of the standard service call charge of $69.95. All the services we offer are pre-approved by the customer and there is no pressure to have them completed if we are unable to agreeably solve the original problem. We appreciate your taking the time to give us this feedback and we hope you will change your mind about working with us in the future should you be unable to solve the issues with your existing keypads and motor.
I chose Precision by mistake. The technician needs serious retraining in dealing with customers. He was very uncouth and could not hide his mission of trying to wrack up as much repair as possible that he did not bother to learn why he was called. He quoted me $69.00 as service call and when I wanted to pay I found out that the surreptitiously added $2.00 to the charge, how mean and unbecoming.
Attitude and tried to price us for something we didnt need. When i got a ridiculous price and said it wont be today, i got the, " well how much were you actually expecting to pay?" That told me right there that i was being priced based on him most likely making commission and he wanted it to be worth his time. In addition to whoever he was yelling at over the phone- he made it clear that he was "wasting his time here". Disgustingly rude and unprofessional.
Yesterday, 04/07/24, Precision Garage Door, came to my residence to replace a broken torsion spring. After the tech evaluated the door, besides the torsion spring, he recommended basically all the hardware needed replacement. He advised my 7’ torsion cables really needed replacing and he stated he would cost $310.87 for two wires cables. I checked Home Depot and I can get two cables for under $20.00. He then stated he was not able to use my torsion tube shaft because he was unable to put the torsion springs on the shaft after he attempt to grind down some spots on the torsion tube. The tech asked me if I could get the torsion spring through the shaft in which I got it halfway and hit a high spot. The tech then gave me his Dewalt hand grinder to grind the shaft tub to see if I could get the torsion spring over the rest of the shaft tube. Finally, I had enough and told him I would pay for a new torsion tube shaft even though it was priced at $232.17 which I could get at Home Depot for less than $25.00 as I wanted the tech to finish up and get out my garage. So, as the tech installs the spring over the new torsion tube, he stripped out one the bolts on the left side upper hardware and now has to cut the pipe for the install. You would expect the cut to be 90 degrees but it was a complete hack job. This is a complete joke. I called the dispatch at PGD to see If I could speak with the manager of the tech and was advised someone would call me back. Needless to say, no manager called me back as of this review. The tech did take the price of the torsion tube shaft off the bill but the price of the shaft to begin with was a joke. PGD is overpriced and looking for commission sales. I would not recommend this company.

1. I requested a quote and I still don't have one printed or on my email. 2. Prices vendor show me on his pad are several times the going rate. Ace hardware actual springs double set market for $50-100. An hour work from my PhD doctor is somewhere between $100-300. Not sure how you charge $800 for spring replacement. Total bill was $2500 with rollers. Unbelievable. I bought two new doors for a house I sold recently for $3500 Still waiting for that quote.

Don't use this company. I called for estimate from Tanner at Precision Garage Door, gave him the info twice:standard two door garage with one broken spring. Tanner told me TWICE that they would be replacing BOTH springs on that door for $339. I said let's do it. Recieved a text right away of who was coming to do the work and a follow up call that the technician would be tgere sooner than later"Great"! Technician Collin does the bait and switch...told me I was Quoted for a single car garage, not a two car garage. I said "nope, I clarified with who I spoke to during the initial call: 2 car garage, two springs $339" I didn't even ask what the new price was. Just told him to leave. Then Collin tells me tgere is a service call fee for him showing up! I said " nope" have a nice day to which he said the office will be calling to settle up. I told him that I would welcome that so we could have a conversation about the company's business practices. Funny thing, no follow up call.
The person your company sent was NOT courteous nor professional!
Your repair rep quoted us with $975.00 to fix our garage door. He replaces the spring although we had install a brand new spring. He started aligning the rails but he can’t align one of the rails. At about 4:50pm something he quit and demanded the full amount that was quoted. We told him that the contract was not done. He insisted that we have to pay the entire amount even though the job was not done. To avoid any confrontation we wrote a check for the entire amount. The name of the repairman was Nathaniel. Please look into our case because the garage door was not done. Your company’s reputation will be on jopardy without fixing the situation. You can call me or send me an email

John was great ,but his quote was $700 higher than the next quote that I got.
Mr. Juenger, we do appreciate you speaking with our residential manager, Ben to discuss your concerns. If we can be of service to you in the future, please reach out to Ben directly at 901-363-4999.
Their tech adjusted the opening height of the door and didn’t tell me. I scraped the top of my truck when I traveled underneath it on the door. They have lied to the BBB and called me a liar. They won’t reply to the BBB any more. I don’t understand why they don’t just turn it into their insurance and make things right. Next step another BBB and Nebraska Attorney General office they gave me the link to progress this. Don’t trust them
The workman who came out was very pleasant. The news he gave was very disheartening. I felt cheated by precision who installed this door for me about two years ago or less than two years ago, and the motor is broken or whatever and this was supposed to be an upgrade from what I previously had . I spent almost $1000 to get this door installation two years ago you now quoted me 500 and something dollars to repair part of it. That is unacceptable. Why would you sell somebody something that is gonna go bad and not try to cover part of the costs to correct. the last door I had I had it for 15 years. I’m very disappointed. I’ll never do business with you again. Anybody asked me? I’ll tell them never do business with precision. If you do this is what you can expect , thank you for the opportunity to share my satisfaction .
