rep was not honest prices to high. did not go through with service
A follow up call to the office on work performed had less than satisfactory results. Disappointed in the reasons that was given to me in regard to my questions.
I’ll update when the job is finished, as I’m mostly satisfied, but we’ve been waiting 3 weeks for them to finish. The salesman was great, punctual and knowledgeable. The installation, however, is incomplete, and no one has followed up. We were told Precision Door would be in touch a week later to arrange to complete the install, but we haven’t heard. I called the company 3 weeks later and was told I’ll hear from a manager today. All I’ve received so far is a resend of the invoice and a request for a review. So the review isn’t complete and I can’t give 5 stars until I know they plan to finish the work.
The repair was done well, but I regret not getting multiple quotes $818- seems very expensive. I didn’t appreciate the upsale approach of showing two even higher quotes. I would not recommend. The technician was nice enough he’s not to blame. I should have vetted better and not just grabbed the first ad at the top of my google search. Very EXPENSIVE lesson learned.
The worker did a great job good work but the garage is not working , I can not use it, it has no Moter, it was not replace the person that did the estament at no time talked to me about the Moter or the frame around the door needed to be upgraded. I'm not happy.
Crazy expensive ($248) for 20 minutes of work and no parts purchased.
I can edit this pending the outcome of the remaining open issue. Hours after the installation concluded the first remote the tech handed me began to randomly flash a blue light and open/close the garage door without me touching the remote. I had to remove the battery to get it to stop. The tech came back today with a new remote and success, vehicles are programmed and seemingly operating OK. I asked the tech to program my outdoor keypad and he informed me it wasn’t compatible. Why wasn’t I informed when he was here providing the estimate 2 days ago? The tech told there is a universal remote I can purchase on-line made my “Lansing”. I can’t find it online and your office never heard of it….but you have one to sell me for $90(!). I’d like to give y’all a glowing recommendation but need this to be resolved amicably. Please provide the info I need to order a universal garage door keypad that works with my/your system. The tech who came out was nice, professional, and did good work, no complaints there.
While my technician was prompt, respectful, and knowledgeable. I believe that the prices charged were outrageous, I was not told the cost of the repairs until the work had already been completed. I was charged 250 dollars for 15-20 mins total and a pair of door sensors. Even if you charged multiple times the standard price for the sensors, the cost still makes absolutely no sense.
Thank you for reaching out about your service visit. After reviewing your account we were able to confirm that we did install your new digital safety eyes to get your garage door motor working again. We do not add separate labor charges to our safety eye installation so we do offer a flat fee for this service to include the labor, the electronics and any needed programming to make sure the motor functions as it should. We do have your signed invoice on file just under the line items disclosing all pricing as well. If this was not you that signed off on the repair work or you were not a the home to make the decision to have the repair done I would reach out to the decision maker for this service visit. However, we do always strive for 100% customer satisfaction so if you feel you still did not receive great service and/or there is an issue with the installation of the electronics please reach out to our main office at 941-351-2408.
I’ve used your service before but this time I was very disappointed with information shared regarding a 150 dollar cancellation fee. I was ready to purchase and the door installed but disappointed that an additional fee was brought up. People have emergencies all the time. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was ready to pay the 60 % down payment.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for any confusion regarding our cancellation fee, and we completely understand how unexpected situations can arise. We always strive to provide clear communication up front, and we're sorry if this communication caught you off guard during your recent experience. Our intention is never to surprise our customers with hidden fees, but to ensure fairness for both parties when last-minute cancellations occur. We truly appreciate your business and hope to have the opportunity to assist you in the future. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any further questions or concerns.
I choose precision because you did a nice job for me a few years back and you tec did a nice job yesterday. I did not get estimates before he came and I should have because after shopping the market I feel I was charged way too much money.
The key pad that was supposed to be installed on the exterior of the door was not installed yesterday. I know it was only the original order/contract. Please call me at 501-993-0763 to set up a date and time to finish the job.
For the reputation, unfortunately the first technician left a mess of dry wall we paid him an extra $40 to hall away. He did not take it away. Just took our money. Between ten two of them they left screws all over the driveway. Very unprofessional . Very disappointed with how the left the job
Fast, friendly and same day service. Technician was very friendly, professional and skilled. The technician completed all the work in 25-35min, but they gouged me on price. Typically this repair is $225-$400, they charged me $750. Ironically my neighbor had this same repair done the next day and only paid $275 for 2 springs replaced also.
They originally set up an appointment between 4 and 6 PM on Monday, but on Monday I got a call and the appointment was changed from 12-2 on Tuesday. I asked would they be able to fix the door on Tuesday I was told yes but when the guy came out he gave me a price of 650.00 but he could not fix it until Saturday. When I complain the guy told me they would come out between 8-10 on Wednesday. The man was there for 45 minutes after running 45 minutes late and charged me 650.00 I know that’s their price but I had a garage door man fixing a door across the street and he gave me a price of $375.00 to repair the doorf. I believe precision took advantage of us. Shop around before you let precision do your work.
Your team member was excellent and super nice. Nothing wrong with him at all. However, I’ll be honest. I should’ve said no when I heard the price but, I needed this fixed. I’ve called around to multiple other garage door repair shops and they said I had the wool pulled over my eyes by your team. Highly disappointed in your pricing/sales model. $720 for 2 springs and 2 pulleys replaced in 15 minutes.
Speed of service and the tech are outstanding. The prices are outrageous. Then to be charged over $80 just for the quote was over the top. Then over $1000 for a garage door opener, WOW. Sorry but I can't recommend it with charging me that much just to get a quote.
Thank you for reaching out Mr. Wink After reviewing your invoice and the technician notes it does look like you were quoted the Liftmaster top of the line motor for $999 with a tune up of $99.99 and also a standard belt drive motor to replace the belt you previously had for $799 also with a tune up of the door. We also have our most economical motor which is a standard chain drive at $699. You could also opt to not get the tune up done and you would deduct the cost of the tune up and the $90 labor charge but risk the new motor getting damaged by operating a heavy door. As advertised on our website we also currently have the service call waived with any repair so your total pricing for the motors would have either been $699, $799 or $999 out the door without rebalancing or tuning up the door. The technician notes from the day of service reads: "Upon arrival spoke with customer states they had a fire in the garage states just needs a new belt and pulley . After inspection found door to be running slightly off balance also found fire damage to the motor, belt has melted to motor gear , front pulley is damaged also wiring damaged. Providing customer options. Customer opted to decline recommendations at this time" It looks like we did not replace the motor you house but since we do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee please reach out to our main office and speak with our General Manager about your service call. 941-351-2408 We look forward to hearing from you.
I was shocked to see how much precision is charging for a genie 2128 (800 dollars), garage door opener which is way overpriced. More than double or more what it’s worth. Thanks to research and the rollers, $30 each, you all charged and I needed 10. That’s $300, Way overpriced again. Where you can get the same quality and make for a box of 10 for $30. That’s 800+300 = 1100+ instead of 3 to 400 + 30 = 430 at the most. Very disappointed and sad about the way the business world takes advantage of consumers when the economy is so bad. I can see a 25% markup but an 80% or more markup is taking advantage of people.
We did not have a good experience with Precision Door. The customer service communication was horrible. My first appointment was cancelled but we had to call to find that out not the other way around. The second appointment was reschedule for three weeks later. We were told that it was pushed so far out because the job required two people to do the install . The thing about that is when the installer came out it was just one person. We do have to give five stars to Sean the installer. He did an excellent job.
The lady I called didn’t try to help me.
I know they do good work - good service but the cost was unbelievable for 2 springs and 3 bearings. I was really shocked!!!! Marilynne Gand
Precision garage door advertises as a 24/7 service. My garage door problem happened on a Friday afternoon. They couldn't come out until Saturday morning. I was unable to have a mode of transportation. Due to my vehicle being stuck in the garage. When they came out & took care of everything. Then when Ryan was writing up the bill. I asked about a discount & he said that he gave me a 15% off for a new door. I thanked him. Paid in full. A few days later, I looked at the paperwork & noticed there's no documentation of a 15%off. I called the office to ask about it . Brinkley (?) stated she could give me the 15% off. It was just disappointing that he would be dishonest about it. On top of it, I gave him a tip. Then Brody came to put up the new garage door. He did a great job. I had to leave for an appt. I was very impressed with how he left things. He did a nice job. I told him to tell Ryan that he owes him an tip.
I'll give the serve person 5-stars, he was great. The cost of the repair was horrible $756 for 2 springs and it only took him about 40-min for the whole job. I looked up the springs on line and the same ones cost $120 for a kit which includes 2 springs and the steel rods used to adjust the tension.
That was a lot of money to have you come out. And say the door opener needed to be replaced . It is still working . I am still shopping for someone who will fix the controller.
Was very disappointed with the service. The reps were very good and the installer was good but was told two weeks that I would have a garage installed. That the door was the simplest door I could get cause they already had them at the shop and would be able to get it in fast for me. 2 weeks later I called and was told "next week the door will be in" and that it would still be another week after that they would schedule an install. So a month+ after the initial break finally had a guy install the new door for me. I literally picked one that they said would be in stock without any frills or bells and wistles to get it in faster and both the initial techs and the installation tech said that the door i orderded is one that they always have in stock. The fact that there isnt even a shop number for me to get a hold of my shop and its all a swithboard of "theyll call you back sometime later" without anyone actually having the real information and not even being able to find me in the system. The only reason I gave two stars is because the actual staff at my house was good and pleasant to work with. The staff on the phone was rude and had no idea each time I called, what was going on.
I found Precision Garage Door on the Internet just yesterday, Tuesday, August 27,2024 as I we were having problems with the door. I called Precision and spoke with Amanda who was so very Polite and Helpful that I felt at ease and knew that I wanted this company to come and Repair my Garage Door. The Technician came Today, Wednesday August 28,2024. He was very Courteous, Knowledgeable, and Professional. In no time he assessed the problem and provided a solution and also gave us options. He went over and beyond our expectations by granting us a very favorable reduction on the price which we will be accepting as soon as Funds are available. We are very pleased with Precision and would highly recommend them to everyone. Eric Longley and Molly Golding
They sent a representative wearing glove on the right hand and inform me that he is unable to do much trouble shooting of the garage door opener.
The technician was way more concerned with selling me ridiculously overpriced, poorly made, parts than installing new torsion springs. Workmanship was marginal, at best. I was expecting repairs to cost about $400. Bill was $815. Would have been well over $915 if I had let the guy install new $100+ cables that cost me $9.00 on Amazon + 20 minutes to install. I felt like Precision GDS was intentionally deceptive from the initial call to set up the appointment until the technician left my house. My suggestion....go elsewhere, or at the very least, get a written estimate with everything needed to do the job "right", then, for comparison, get another estimate from another company.

i think $160.00 dollars is a bit much for about 40 minutes of repair my garage door opener
Dear Mr. Leiding, We want to thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback on your experience with us. We appreciate hearing from our customers even if they are not as satisfied as we hope. Regarding the cost, we do have standard pricing for common repairs such as the ones you received. All repair quotes are presented to and agreed upon by our customers prior to any work being completed. Our technician presented you with the quotes for the repairs required and you agreed to having him complete them. Time spent on these repairs is minimal because our staff is highly trained, experienced, and capable. That is in fact why our technician was able to quickly assess and make repairs to both your garage door springs and motor. If you had not wanted to have the repairs completed, you were given the option to decline having the work done. We appreciate your business and the opportunity to address your concerns.
Tale of 2 days: initially set up repair for next day service & specifically asked & was told by service rep that if no one was home, garage door would be open & to CALL me with ANY questions or concerns; day of service I see tech has arrived at our place but after 3 plus hours no call or anything so I contacted office where Anthony saved the day & got another tech (Ephraim - great guy) out the next day since nothing was ever done by original tech.. So job was completed a day later than necessary. Need to tighten up sloppy miscommunication with all the other competitors out there..
way overpriced!
Waste of time and money.Had new genie that needed to be programmed remotes not able to do. Not sure why. Asked to take new one out and replace with one of yours. Price was overpriced. Not happy. Have used your company b4 and was satisfied. A waste of $69.00 plus tax.
Looked like a reliable company. It was very costly, expected a better price.
Possibly the most overpriced company I’ve ever used. Won’t call or recommend to anyone. Ever.
when I called for help with a problem i was informed there would be a $29 service call fee but it would be taken off if a repair was performed. No problem. When technician showed, I showed him what was the problem. He immediately went to the safety sensor and found a broken wire and spliced it back together. Good for that one. Same problem with second door. He traced the safety sensor to top of door and found a pinched wire. He cut, striped, spliced it back. All in less than 15 minutes for both doors. Charge was $170, but he gave me a senior citizen discount of $8. I presume the service call charge was taken of or the charge would have been $199. I payed $162 and I thought that was ridiculously high for twisting 3 wires back together. I was pleased that the doors worked right afterwards but was HIGHLY disappointed at that price for the small amount of time and work done. I promise I will not call presion doors ever again. Sorry but it seems they want to get rich on every little job.
Price quoted for a bare bones vinyl door was > 30% higher than Overhead door for a steel door of same design. Apples to apples comparison of quotes means we will go with Overhead for our needs. In addition, the sales rep from Precision was pretty arrogant. For the above reasons, we will not be using Precision for our door replacement.
We appreciate you speaking with our manager to get this issue resolved. Please give us a call for any future needs.
Left without programming one of the remotes for the garage. When we called, they wouldn't send him back. We have to wait till next week to have somebody come back out. If you have two garage doors and two remotes, why wouldn't you program them both he left one of them unopened in a bag. we paid a premium price of $1200 to replace just one motor. You would think at that price we would get by star service.
$234 for Inspection, 3 screws Grease. With a $1200 upsell to replace an old but working unit…. Would not call again.
Pros and cons pros got here very quickly to assess the damage and right up an estimate Steven the tech absolutely incredible very professional and knowledgeable did an outstanding job highly recommend him .for the cons extremely expensive 4 years ago the same spring replacement cost me $300 and some change for the same job it just cost me $850 so not happy with the price at all but I guess it's called supply and demand my business was closed down so I had no choice but to spend the money ????
You installed a new LM 84501R for $828 but I later checked this unit sales on amazon for $410. Not sure why your price was double.
The door is really loud now and wasn’t before and there’s light shining in from the outside on the left side of the door. I paid a lot of money to have everything updated and I am very concerned about how noisy it is now. Sounds like it’s going to collapse.
First off, the person who arrived did not look nor act like he wanted to be working on Sunday. That is not my decision. Once we discovered what I already knew, that the keypad was not working it became a if I have it I'll have to give you a price. Well, I just looked up how much this device costs online and I believe I over paid a lot. I will not be dealing with this company nor will I recommend based on this experience to anyone who will listen. I could have figured out how to install myself. And while I'm here, my carpenter is painting and is not happy about the install of the trim around the garage door. The nail heads will be forever seen since they used a nail gun to shoot it in, plus you can't clean this stuff worth a hoot.
Hi and thank you for your review. I am sorry you feel you did not have a great experience with our company. The technician that was out there for your service visit has a normal work day on Sunday's as his schedule is and has been for years from Sunday to Thursday. And yes your technician was correct in making sure he did have the correct part on his service van to then obtain the proper model number for your machine to enter into his computer to give you a price before starting any work. You can always do any work at your own house cheaper if you have the proper tools, know the product, know what is wrong, know how to install it and know how to program it. If this was an issue where you would have let us know you were going to be handling the repair yourself we would have been happy to not schedule a service appointment with you and we would have sent you to our phone support system, but this was never mentioned. After we provided you with upfront pricing, including the service call fee when you booked the appointment, you did agree to have the work done with no issues, as far as we knew, and this is the first we are hearing about this. We are also sorry that you are not happy with us nailing up your garage door trim which was installed 4 years ago as this is also the fist time we are hearing any issues about your trim. We do need to nail the trim up so unfortunately we do not have other options. If you are painting over the trim and are worried about paint dimpling your contractor should be able to use any sort of fill that works on vinyl to help alleviate any issues. Once again if we knew this was an issue prior to four years later we would have been more than happy to discuss this with you previously. As far as cleaning I am not sure what you mean as we only installed a keypad which is a super simple process. Either way we do strive for 100 percent customer satisfaction so we will be contacting you directly to set up a visit for a refund for you. Please expect a call from our General Manager.
While service was excellent the price was over the top. Only had it completed because they were on site and felt committed. Will not consider them in the future
Service was friendly. Told us that cables were frayed and that they had to be replaced. When we asked how much that would be we were told “not much at all”. Cables ended up being $255, which is much more than “not much at all”. After we paid, I asked for the old cables. On inspection I found that the cables were not frayed at all. I’m tired of being taken advantage of by contractors.
Purchased garage door opener amongst other items, total of $2245. The garage door light will not go out. I have been waiting for call back from technician or supervisor for hour and half. I am not happy!!!’
Work was done well but $500 plus was a bit excessive for one hours work and chain set.
Door quality is excellent. However, 3x techs have come out but problems still exist. Yes, uneven garage floTCor is evident. One tech alluded to this being a common problem, but we still have excess spacing on right side and bottom. Bandaid fixes are not lasting more than 24 hours. Flooring was not checked beforehand, otherwise we might not have replaced but only repaired. Now we are stuck with door that looks bad from the street.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I am sorry we have not been able to come to a solution that you are satisfied with. We attempted adjusting the door multiple times and gave you a thicker seal to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, with the condition or your concrete we are not able to completely close the gap you are referring to without jeopardizing the safety and longevity of your garage door. If the concrete is leveled or fixed, please let us know and I would be happy to have someone come out and adjust the door at no charge.
Quick same day service, excellent. Technician was friendly, professional and competent, as you would expect. It was a disappointing experience of upselling and the pricing for a custom length cable made me feel like I was getting hosed.
My experience with the technician was positive. However, I will not do business with Precision again. This is the third time I have had a similar problem. The first time the price was $450, the second time it was $550. This time it was $1,025. In my opinion this was "gouging". I can accept a price increase......but don't gouge me.
Selection of Precision Garage Door was based on the previous homeowner's records. An expectation of prior service knowledge was anticipated, none was found. Arrival time of the Service Tech was manageable on the day scheduled (October 29, 2023). Shortly after a review of the current garage door situation, the Tech was not able to determine the reason(s) for the release of the right cable from the bottom of the door. He asked if I might have known why, I did not. A suggestion was made that I replace both cables and I had no problem with his recommendation. He then asked when the springs on the top of the door were last replaced & I initially did not know. He informed me that they have a limited amount of time that they are good for & provided me with an estimate. The amount was considerably higher than I was expecting. Based on the amount received, I retrieved the previous homeowner’s records and found that the springs and rings were replaced on June 13, 2021, just over 2 years prior. When he realized that replacement of the springs was not required, he replaced the cables on the doors as agreed upon. Additionally, he tightened the springs & then the chain on the opener. As he tested the opening & closing of the door and prepared to depart, I mentioned that I believed the opener had become considerably more loud. He checked the chain adjustment & informed me that it was fine. To date the loud sound with every opening & closing of the door has not changed. At times the loud noise makes me believe that it is only a matter of time before it stops working. It is ironic, the repeated television commercials tout the reduction of noise with the company’s service while the service I received appears to have brought just the opposite. More thought will go into a garage door company if/when my next service is considered.
Just did a one year maintenance checkup. Charged $89/per door. I had two doors. Then I asked for you to program a new (single) garage door opener as a backup. Holy shit! You charged me $150 for a simple program to my garage door? Good to know. I will NEVER use you all again. EVER! You have competition out there peeps, and I will use them going forward. Thank you (very little)!
your techs are great!. its been 6 months since they put the new door in. you have had to come back 5 times to fix it. first they ordered the wrong door . then one panel had a dent. bolts were not tighten on one of the rails. then one of the cables snapped, which put a crease in the top panel. they ordered 2 new panels, which they installed on 1/23/24. now there is another dent in one of the new panels they just installed. your suppliers need to figure a better way of protecting the panels during shipping. all i want is a new door i paid for, without any dents. and i also bought a new opener from you guys as well.
Based on the technician's recommendation, I opted to pay approximately $130 more for a garage opener that had a camera with a myQ app that would provide me with increased security, allow Amazon to deliver packages inside of the garage instead of on the porch and would allow me to access my garage over the cell phone. The door opener works fine, but I believe I was oversold on the product. When I asked your technician to help me install and activate the myQ app, he told me that was not something he could do and he was not trained to assist me with. I finally loaded the app to a cell phone only to find that there is a subscription that I had to sign up for. This additional cost was not mentioned to me until I found it in the app. He hurried to show me how the new wall control worked and when I went to program my car to the opener found out the program on the wall switch would not connect with the car. I installed it the old fashion way of pushing the "learn button" on the unit and then pushing the garage door button in the car to activate the system. Basically, I believe I overspent $130 for a door opener with features that I will never use. I paid for features that I will never use if it required a subscription. The features were not fully explained and I could have had a system to open my garage door for less than what I paid. I am also waiting for an electronic copy of my invoice for this service.
The only item I have an issue with is the door is not flush with the ground and the tech told us we needed to go buy a Thresh hold seal from Home depot and install it. There is a crack between the ground and air is getting in. We paid about $3,200 dollars why would we have to buy this when this was not the problem before. I really do not think this should be on us to complete this process. I would hope your company would resolve this for us
We had a spring break on an old wooden garage door. Up until that happened the door functioned without fault for 30 years. It never required adjustment. After new springs were installed, the technician closed it and opened it once and it seemed to function OK. After the technician left I closed the door. The next day I opened the door, but when I attempted to close it, the door would not close completely. There was supposed to be a ten year warranty on the work that was done. The technician came back out, looked at the door and indicated the problem was not covered by warranty. It would cost another $200 plus parts and labor to fix the issue. I refused to spend any more money with them. I will be going with another company after spending $800 with Precision. Very disappointing.
Hi Steve Lortz, Thank you for your feedback. The new parts installed on your garage door are under warranty. However, as you shared your garage door is 30 years old and to function properly your garage door required additional parts. This was also noted on the safety inspection the technician filled out and discuss with you both times he was at your house. We will still honor the estimate on the additional work if you decide to move forward with it.
Replacement of broken spring was timely and needed. My initial call was misleading because I told the call person I had a 2 car garage sectional door and was told the starting price was $205 per spring. I was told that since I described my garage door as sectional early in the call, it was not sufficient for the call person to look at his price guide that $205 was for a tilt-up door and not a sectional door. Had I been given the correct starting price for a sectional door, I probably would have called another repair company to get an approximate quote and more than likely would not have used Precision.
Service tech was on time and friendly and did a good job. But service was way overpriced. $938 for basically taking off some brackets that were installed incorrectly and bolting them back in, and a regular tuneup of springs and lubrication. That’s over $450 hour rate with no parts other than some bolts. Way overpriced. No problem with the technician, he was nice but just charged me way too much for what it was.
Crazy expensive…
We purchased a brand new garage door, opener, and everything needed to replace our old one which was installed in 1983. Things started great with Precision. They were very quick to come out and meet with us to provide a quote. Our sales rep Mike was good to work with, provided a lot of information and for that reason we selected Precision. Unfortunately the problems started when our brand new door arrived and was installed. Two of the panels had scratches on them and while the technician tried to apply some paint to cover them up, it didn't really work well. He pointed out the scratches and indicated someone would be calling me from Precision later that day. I didn't hear from anyone so I reached out the next day via email (to keep a record) and noted the damage to the door panels and also pointed out there was a problem with the door closing consistently, and also I had light and wind coming in from the sides of the garage. I sent a couple of follow up emails and eventually on 11/21 I did receive a voicemail indicating they were aware of the issues and someone would be in touch to discuss next steps. I hadn't heard anything since then so earlier this week I reached back out via email and submitted more pictures showing the gaps on the side of the new door getting worse as well as asking about next steps but haven't heard from anyone still. I'm not an expert but it would appear aside from the scratches on the new door, it wasn't installed properly either. Disappointing customer service after the sale and certainly not what we expected from the previous reviews let alone our old door from '83 which wasn't even insulated provided more relief from the outside elements. I would attach pictures but cannot on this sight but did post them on google for review
Logan was friendly and efficient and I have no complaints about him but ingl, I find it impossible to see past the fact that they charged $400 for a repair that took under 30 minutes which is little short of price gouging of customers who probably don't have a choice (the door was stuck open and a snow storm was coming in)
I've used Precision for years. Today, I needed a spring replaced. The tech gave me a price of $360 for one. Both would have been $720. I explained that I had a coupon for a free service call and that I was prior military. I asked him if there was a service charge and he said there wasn't. When I received my invoice, he had given me a $40 discount for military, but charged me $20 for "fleet transportation", which it seems to me is just a different way of saying service call charge. The tech was a nice guy and arrived on time. Your pricing is ridiculous. I contacted Banko and was given a price of $295 for 1 spring or $395 for both. I'll be using them from now on.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with our management team. We appreciate the opportunity to make this right by you and hopefully a return customer again.
Excellent service but they steal our tax write off. They give us an invoice as if it was all labor. They do not give us the exact amount of the actual Garage door opener. Sad but I will not recommend then to anyone. Seems Cooked books to avoid paying taxes.
Our garage door opener has an intermittent problem with the safety sensors. I called after it failed to work for 4 days Precision initially said they would send someone that day but called later and said it wouldn’t be til the following day. Later on that day the door started working again. The tech ran it through multiple cycles, but the problem did not occur while he watched. He did recommend adding a surge protector to the opener. He said he couldn’t do anything and to call again when it failed again.
Precision Door Your folks were courteous, and the final products (door springs) were installed and solved the problems However, For a company that advertises quick service the job took more than month. Project 36997355 Estimate number(s) 36996523 Invoice Date 10/25/2023 Completed Date Communications was poor: Your company used the wrong phone number when responding. The correct phone number was on file with the secretary (confirmed). When I called with concerns, the response was that I did not answer answer the phone or call back. (implication... customer problem) Several Miscommunications regarding the status us of the parts leading to false expectations on project completion. No one seemed concerned during the process
First, Anthony was on time and very courteous. That was as far as my satisfaction went. He walked into the garage and within 5 seconds suggested an $850 repair. He never really looked at the issue in my opinion. I told him I didn't have that amount of money today. I asked if there were other options and he suggested I call Wayne Dalton (manufacturer) and they could probably fix it for 5 to 6 hundred. The total visit was about 10 minutes. I paid the service charge of $75 and he left. I then proceeded to do some research and a few hours later my door is fixed for about $65 by my own hands. I am disappointed that I was not given any other options for repair. I replaced two lift cables and readjusted the springs and it's done.
Cody the technician was great, however, the price of the torsion springs are ridiculously jacked up. Having a double car garage, I needed two springs and the cost of just one spring that Precision charged was more than the cost of buying the springs in pairs, based on my pricing research. My cost was $189 x 2, just for the springs! Then I was charged a fee for labor when I was told it was included and then found out that it was at the discretion of the technician whether there was to be a labor fee or not. They’ve got a pretty good racket going on, I’ll give them that!!
Hi Ana, Thank you for taking the time to speak with me on the phone yesterday. As we discussed, not only do we carry a higher quality spring than what you could purchase online, but you would still need to pay a technician to safely install both springs on your garage, which takes a significant amount of training and work to do correctly. Though we honor one discount at a time, we were happy to honor a veteran's discount for you, as well as completely waive our $65 service fee. The labor charge is at the technicians discretion, as some jobs are more difficult or require more work and time than others. We choose our technicians very carefully and are very proud to only hire honest and genuine men, who care about the customer first, and take pride in their work. We have spoken with our tech in detail and trust the technician's decision to charge labor if he felt it was truly needed.
Overall, an unsatisfactory experience. Second tech (Chris) arrived at the scheduled time after the original tech (Evan) tried to come two hours earlier than agreed. Although he was respectful, Chris gave me an original estimate of $950+ to replace two springs and a bracket. When I declined, came back with a $600+ estimate, which I also declined. Came back a third time with an estimate of $449, which I accepted. Agreed to accept their coupon of $15 off, only to tell me at the end that he could not accept it because he had already applied a coupon. No coupon had been applied, only the three estimates. Not a good way to do business. Give the customer a fair estimate and don't play games. Unfortunately, cannot recommend your company. I only gave two stars because the tech was courteous and the work was completed in a timely manner. Garage door appears to be working well. Will be writing a Google review as well.
We apologize you felt you had a bad experience with our company and appreciate your feedback on the matter. The original quote you received was a repair that could take care of all the worn parts on your garage door. When you declined the service, the technician began to give you options where some parts were taken away to get the price down, but allow the door to still function as a partial repair. It in no way was meant to seem as if we were playing games with the price, or give you the impression of poor business practices. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you in the future.
I suppose the work was done properly. I wasn't at the location and was given options via phone, The existing springs were by Torquemaster which is a deviation from the traditional method. I was told by the tech how bad a system it was, that no professional company would never touch them, and continued to up-sell me. It felt like i was dealing with a vinal siding or window salesman. If you have a Torquemaster system do not call Precision, do some google research as i did AFTER paying for replacement normal torsion springs. there are a number of reasons door repair companies won't repair Torquemaster systems and it has nothing to do with quality.
Your prices are ENTIRELY TOO HIGH, ENTIRELY TOO HIGH!!!!!! IT is RIDICULOUS what I paid for. Replacing 2 springs and making a minor correction. I will NOT be using your company EVER AGAIN, I feel like you just RIPPED ME OFF. I paid 1800.00 dollars for this job. NEVER AGAIN, and I will be PASSING this information along to EVERYONE I know!!!!
very poor
It’s unfortunate how this business has gone from serving its customers and doing solid work to instead focusing on up-selling and trying to take advantage of people they know need to have issues taken care of in order to get back to normal. I would make the suggestion that you have a separate sales and service force. Very sad to find out what should have cost under $900 to repair was actually priced at $1600 along with the up-sell items bring the total quote to almost $5000. We have a business that relies on servicing customers and it always saddens me to see businesses with so much potential lose sight of their customers and instead worry about big ticket sales. I appreciate the quick response to my repair request but in the end it just did not make sense to spend that kind of $. Very unlikely we will call Precision in the future.
I felt over charged for 15 minutes of labor with no parts involved 220.00 dollars seems very. unfair to me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clifton Gruhn, Thank you for your feedback - your invoice reflects the breakdown of the amount of work completed by the technician. Our technicians are high trained professionals unlike other service technicians in the garage door industry so they are able to provide prompt and high quality service. We are glad the technician was able to get your door operational for you. If you require additional service please do not hesitate to call us.
Price for a simple repair service was out of bounds. I had a broken cable on a garage door with torsion springs. Service tech was fine and did good work but I was charged $455 for a 10 minute fix. Charged exactly $200 for the cables which can get at homedepot (same size 1/8") or anywhere else for less than $20. I watched him take right at 10 minutes to replace the cables. $35 fuel/trip charge and another $220 labor. This was after he tried to talk me into replacing the cable drums, which was a much bigger $$ job. I repeatedly declined the new drums and he finally said the ones on there might work but no guarantee. And of course they worked fine. I had Precision Door saved as a contact # in my phone as I was happy with work they have done for me in the past (I maintain 5 rental homes) but they are now deleted off my phone.
Jeff Stenger, Thank you for your feedback and thank you for letting us know the service technician was fine and did good work for you! We appreciate that. Our effort is to always provide our customers with a permanent long term solution on their garage door not working. With that said the parts you received from our company come with a warranty as reflected on your invoice. Additionally to prevent future incidents where as a garage door is unable to function properly our technicians as a courtesy and for safety always notify our customers of any parts that are not in good working order. To clarify we asked the technician who completed your service and the drums on your garage door are compatible with the higher quality cables installed. Initially there was a concern as our cables are higher quality than the parts replaced. We are sorry if there was confusion on this. The technician also discussed if you decided to not have service work completed, there is no charge. We are glad you decided to have the work completed. Please do not hesitate to call us again for a quote if something else comes up.
The technician spent the majority of the time attempting to upsell me on a new opener/door. We had a chain off the opener and he priced a replacement opener/springs at $2.5k and getting a new door at $4.5k. Total rip-off!!!
Thank you for your review and taking the time to speak with me over the phone regarding your experience. We need feedback from our customers, both positive and negative, to improve our business. This will help us achieve our goal of ensuring our customers are completely satisfied with the products and service we provide. We realize that our competitors may quote a lower price but often the parts offered by competitors are not of the same quality as the parts and service we offer. We believe in only offering long-term solutions that will leave your door safe, secure and reliable for years to come. This allows us to offer longer warranties including lifetime warranties on many of the parts and services we offer. Your feedback is extremely important to us as we continue to enhance our customer experience and drive customer satisfaction. If you need any garage door service in the future, we would appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. Regards, Mike Rewerts General Manager
No doubt the rep knows his work, however, i don't like when company charges money just to come over and check the problem and give estimate. I had minor concern if my garage door is balanced. Precision Garage Door had coupon on Groupon. I purchased the coupon but when called in to make appointment I was told the company doesn't accept the coupon. Regardless, I made the appointment. You get 4 hours appointment window and rep showed up 15 minutes before end of appointment time. He looked at the door and didn't find any issues, but suggested new parts or system replacement for $1400+-. I asked to do a tune up which cost $69. The tune up involved spraying the hinges with lubricant and nothing else. Ended paying $138 to make house call and spray the hinges with lubricant. I could have done that myself.
I apparently lost power and the door was very slow. It seems to me that the Genie app should have told me that instead of me having have a service person out to tell me.
I was happy they were able to come out within 2 hrs to fix my door but not happy about the pricing. I was quoted to take the door off, adjust the springs, put it back on track it would be $360 because of the effort & time (I believe he said an hour or 2 of time). However, 15 mins later when he put the roller in the track & attached the wire, he was done & even told me it was a lot easier than he planned. When I asked how much, the price hadn’t changed - still $360 is “the quote agreed to”. Which was true but wondering if it took twice as long & effort, would it have still been $360 because that’s what was agreed to? Doubtful. I don’t think the pricing was fair at all for what ended up needing to be done. I did agree to that quote for the work stated but shouldn’t have had to pay that when the work was much less. No parts were purchased so $325 for 15 mins labor & a $35 fuel charge seems excessive. I won’t be using their services in the future.
No they did not meet my expectations and no my problem was not fixed because my door was old was told they were not allowed to touch it because it was a single door it was only a spring that had came off and the spring was still there on the door but was off at one end.Did quote me a 1900 price for a new door.
Ms. Pittman, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. Unfortunately we do not work on one piece doors our call center should of done a better job communicating that to you. I will send this to our leadership team so this can be used as a learning opportunity. Once we determined that we couldn't repair your door - our technician was able to leave you a free estimate.
Too much selling or up-selling, probably company policy. Watch their cost of materials - 3 times over the retail price, plus almost $200/hr labor time. The technician was friendly and professional.
Aaron was great and did a good job, however I thought the parts were overpriced, even with current inflation costs.
I was quoted a price for a replacement opener and a service cost. When the technician arrived he told me there would also be a $100 labor charge. While he was working I called the company and they then called the technician telling him not to add a separate labor charge. She told the technician the service fee covered the labor. I felt like I was being ripped off and only because I called did I not get billed an extra $100. They need to work this out.
the process of receiving a true estimate for repair service is something I will never do again.
The repair work for 1 door was very expensive. The cost was double the amount that we paid to have 2 doors installed.
Waste of time and $$. Tech in a hurry and only wanted to leave. No 27 point inspection. Will not use them or refer them.
I had a spring break about a week ago and Kyle at Precision came out to repair it. I thought the price was a little steep but I went with it anyway because the garage is my main entrance and I needed it fixed. Over the next week, 5-6 times, my garage door would reverse itself and re-open once closed. I never once had this issue prior to the repair. The gal I talked to on the phone said it would probably be a warranty issue and would let the tech know. They sent Kyle who immediately copped an attitude with me when I mentioned that the garage door only had issues after the repairs had been made. His demeanor was a complete 180 from how he had portrayed himself on the first visit. Maybe he accidentally bumped the sensors during the repair, who knows? I don’t. I just know I spent $850 on a garage door that wasn’t working properly, I think most people would have the same reasonable reaction. He did go ahead and reluctantly adjust the sensors which I did appreciate although I likely won’t know for a few days if that fixed it or not. On a side note, Jordan, who came with him this time, was awesome! He told me what to look for if it happens again and things I could try on my own to fix it. Kyle did not offer that advice. I personally wouldn’t recommend this company after this encounter, but If you choose to use them and you can request your technician, I would highly recommend Jordan.
My door makes more noise than ever before
I was quoted around $650 plus around $30 service charge plus tax on the phone for a garage door opener replacement, but when the technician showed up he said it would cost around $1200. I told him about the quote but he said my garage door needed a belt drive and the motor would cost $1200. I then insisted that I just wanted whatever I was quoted but he said that the price I was quoted did not include the track or remote. Just when I was about to send him off he said he would not charge me for the track but he still charged me for the remotes. I ended up paying close to $850. This is not honest business practice and I just can’t recommend this place to my associates, friends, and family. By the way, after he left I realized that my garage door simply just wouldn’t close (came right back up after closing half way). Luckily he was still on my driveway and I had to get him back to fix it.
You charged me 139 dollars for a 35 dollar garage door keypad. Not right at all...
In the past they’ve done a great job however this visit was different. As soon as I told the technician our power was out he immediately told me the circuit board was damaged by power surge. $350 replacement. Then charged $150 program fee when it took 5 minutes to hold the remote up to the key pad. He was there less than 30 minutes.
I just wanted my Genie garage door opener repaired. When the technician and I'm sure salesman arrived all he could tell me was that parts weren't (and they are)available and I needed a whole new garage door the opener the whole enchilada over $3300. With a little more research I was able to repair my garage door opener for $12. That was my experience just saying.
WAY OVER PRICED! The service tech was on time and the garage door is now working fine. We were charged $500 for a set of $40 springs and 15 minutes of labor.
