All I would have never expected to have a estimate this high, $5000.00 for a 6'x6'6" overhead garage door installed, thats a ridiculous price. if they did not want the job they could have told me when they were here. the person that came out to measure he gets a 5. The person that gave me the price gets a 0. Just a FYI check other door companies estimates before you decide who you want to give you hard earned money to.

Hello Duain, I had just sent you a email moments ago. I do look forward to your response. I wanted to take a moment to respond here as well so our viewers have more of a clear understanding of what happened here. Denny had called me when I was in the field training a installer. He asked for help to provide for you a quote. During that conversation I had mistaken the size to be a 16x6ft9inch 18R value door. He mentioned that there would have to be framing done both inside and outside, and that you had requested for a high lift set up. Possibly with a motor and lifetime hardware. To which I did quote for him close to $5000 for all of that. Now this is my mistake, clearly with a 6' wide door there is a lot less door, and a lot less framing to do. Also, the job can be completed in a day with 1 person as appose to 2 people needed for the 16ft wide door. I do apologize about this mistake, and would like to have the opportunity to provide you a more accurate quote that meets your demands and speculations that you are looking for. I do hope to hear back from you, and really give you the opportunity to see why so many people choose Precision Door.

I got a callback very quickly and service was scheduled for the next day. Communication was great updating me on the service tech’s arrival time. The work done was thorough and everything was explained in detail. A couple of options were presented and he was able to complete the work during the visit. I thought the charges were reasonable given the full inspection of the garage door and opener that was performed and the time to diagnose the problem with opener. When that time is added to what a “cheap” charge would be for just an opener install, I was happy with Precision’s bill and will not hesitate to call them when I need help in the future.
