My technician Jay Constantine arrived early (which was very welcome). Prior to his arrival, o received both an email and text message with a link with his photo, live location, cell number and ETA. Very helpful!! Jay was very friendly, efficient and extremely honest in his assessment of our garage door repair. This is our second time we have used Precision and they will 100% be our go-to for all future garage door needs.

The response was same day, outstanding. The technician stayed well into the evening until it was totally fixed, outstanding. The person who answered the phone was very courteous and helpful, and the technician was personable, professional, and provided expert diagnosis and repair. Outstanding all the way around. The only thing I can't comment on is price, as I have nothing to compare it to (but I have no reason to think the price was not fair). I will be recommending Precision to anyone who needs this type of service.

I made an appointment for less than 24-hours after my initial call. The appointment booker was friendly and booked me an appointment for the following morning on a Saturday. We had a terrible noise when the door was closing. It’s been happening since a new spring was replaced earlier this year. Dakota changed a number of bolts today and it sounds much better, Dakota is an excellent technician! He takes his time and really tries to solve the issue.

Kyler and Preston were both at our place today. I had called for an inspection of our garage door system since it had been over a year since we had a new motor put in by Precision. It was recommended that we replace all working parts of our garage door. The parts were about 15 years old and we agreed it was necessary. We were very pleased with the courtesy and professionalism of both employees.

Probably will never call again or recommend unless It’s an extreme last chance emergency. First, I used the website to chat with an after hours agent with little information other than my Garage door will not open. I was told that they wouldn’t have a tech available until the next day and that the repairs would likely cost $200-$300, but that a tech would need to come out to assess and the assessment would cost $60. I said that I would check around for a same day tech, but may call back to schedule if nothing better was found. I then looked around to find more information. Luckily I found my home owners booklet that specified the system type and then I checked the web to find out how I could give pertinent information to expedite the repair. I found out that I had a TorqueMaster Plus system, that my Garage Door is 16ft wide by 7ft high and weighs 125lbs. I also found that a replacement spring set would cost about $80 total from https://www.waynedaltonparts.com I called Precision back the next day to schedule an appointment and to give them all of the information. I was glad to get a morning appointment the same day and I made sure that I gave the dispatch ALL of the measurements and specs so the tech wouldn’t have much guessing to do, but to just get to work on the repair. A little later, the tech shows up and I walk him to the garage door. He tells me that he has to do a diagnostic and write up a quote... This should’ve been my Red Flag to ask him to leave. However, I understood his position b/c it’s a house call. I asked him didn’t he get the information that I passed along to the dispatch with the measurements and specs? He said “No.” I then explained to him that I’ve done most of his work for him and showed him how I got the information. He said that he appreciated the effort but he would still need to evaluate everything for himself to put into the quote. (I get it, they can’t trust the words of the customer due to liability concerns). He then tells me that it will be about 30-40 minutes to do his inspection and evaluation. He was done in 10 min. After which he showed me his quote for the repair...$1200+ WTH?!?! I asked what gives. The tech explains that my current system is not supported by them and that all new brackets, wires and springs would need to be installed. I looked back at the inspection report and showed him that he marked that only my Springs were “FAILED” everything else passed. So why did I need a whole new system, if a replacement spring could be ordered and installed and I wouldn’t mind paying the $300? He said that they don’t support the TorqueMaster set up and that there is now guarantee that the brackets and rods would support a new torsion Spring set up. SHEESH!!! So they want to give me a quote that’s quadruple the amount expected?!? He said the most he could do is offer me a 5% discount. I’m like “Really? That’s it?” I see that the 5% is for AAA members (which I am a member of the Mid-Atlantic AAA), and my wife is an Educator, where is the discount for that? Frustrated, I declined the New system and asked the tech to just email me the quote so I could think it over. The tech then informed me that I needed to pay him the house call fee of $69. That really irritated me. I corrected him and said it’s $60. He rebutted that it’s $69 due to credit card use and taxes. WHAT?!?!? A 15% markup on the quoted house call at the last minute??? I paid the fee and escorted the tech off my property being as cordial and professional as possible. I’m holding on to the quote email as proof to the BBB. The ending of my story is that I contacted a competitor that was able to come out the following day. The difference is that they told me up front that they don’t service the TorqueMaster set up but that they could probably still use the brackets already in place. They charged $45 to come out, but that would be deducted from the repair cost. The God’s honest truth is that the competition did the switch to the Torsion Spring system for $450 TOTAL. I hope that if you read this, you will shop around and gather as much information as possible before settling with a repair company. If Precision Doors is an honorable company they would check their records and try to make this right with me as I would have no problem with going back to give an update if contacted and given restitution. However, as it stands I would give them only .5 Stars if I could and that would only be because the tech was able to come out on the Same day. For the customers I’d say choose wisely...

To Update my experience with Precision Garage Door... Today, I was called by a customer service rep from Precision (Kate). She had called to express her concern with my experience and to get the full story from me. I recounted my ordeal to Kate and she expressed her regret that I had such a bad encounter with PGD. Kate conducted an investigation and followed up with me. In the follow up call Kate issued a full refund for the $69 that I had paid for the house visit as she agreed that had the information, that I provided, been properly utilized the whole experience could have been avoided. I can appreciate a company that is willing to admit their faults and takes responsibility for the infringement. After Kate offered to refund my expense, I told her to send me a link so that I could update review. As man of my word, I am doing just that. If I could, I would add another star to the rating (if for no other reason than just for Kate and her compassion and professionalism), but that part I can’t do from here. There may come a time when I may have need to call upon PGD again, I can only hope that I be put in contact with someone like Kate as I am sure that the experience would would be exponentially better.

When I called Precision Garage Doors, they were prepared to send someone that same day. As I told them, it wasn't an emergency, so we made the appointment for two days later. Then my neighbor said she needed a repair also, so they combined our appointments. The young man came on time, got to work immediately, and did his job very well. I am very pleased with the result, and he did a complete inspection of the door. Since I do an inspection and fine-tuning yearly, the door was generally in great shape.
