I contacted Precision for an estimate on 2 garage door openers. I was contacted with a day by the salesman, and the technician, Chris, arrived on time and was thorough. It was determined that a "standard" type opener would not work, and that a "Jack-Shaft" type opener would be required. I was quoted a price, which I felt was high, so I declined the offer. However, as Chris was leaving, he told me that I owed $49.95 for a service call. I was shocked and upset. I told him that I was told a technician would come by to give an estimate. During the brief sales call and appointment arrangement, there was no mention of a fee for an estimate. Chris could tell how upset I was and did not charge any fee. I did sign that I declined service, which I felt was not right either. I'm OK with the initial sales process, but an attempt to charge for an estimate is really bad.
