Need garage door? Beware - this is our experience with Precision Door service! The first appointment was at 8:00 am on February 25. The tech didn’t show up until 11:30 am. No phone call, no communication at all! At 7:30 pm that night, he leaves. The job has several MAJOR issues. Wrong springs - lift motor was not installed - neither remote was working -key pad not installed - electric eyes were installed 1/2 inch from the floor - hinge on the door was at an odd angle, not square with panel - trim work not caulked. I am not a happy camper! Another tech came two days later and just shakes his head as he looks at the job! He called the office and got the okay to change the springs so that we can at least open the door. The third tech comes two days later and begins to try and fix all the mess. He finally gets the job done - most of it to my satisfaction. So 15 1/2 hours later, several phone calls, emails, and pictures, it is close! Would I recommend Precision Door——HELL NO!!! Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately some things are out of our control as an install and repair company including traffic on 75 with a tractor trailer accident that morning that turned our techs drive into a 3.5 hour drive as opposed to a 1.25 hour drive which we were able to verify on our GPS but we certainly apologize for the late arrival out side of your 8-10am time frame as we never like to be an hour and a half late. Once on site our installer worked to get your door completed and noticed that the springs that were labeled and sent from our manufacturer for your door were not the correct size after we wound them up. Our technician let our office know and did document your frustrations and noted that- "Customer was not satisfied today due to the Springs not being the right size so the door was too heavy to hook the motor up to I did not want to put the motor under that kind of pressure I also did not install the keypad today due to the fact that I did not get done until like 730 the customer was also wondering about safety eyes being too low so when the next person comes out they will need to move them up just a little bit customer also wants his trim to be caulked I did not have any Caulk on the truck therefore I did not do it I also did not collect final payment because the job was not completed" We were aware of the condition of the job left as incomplete because of time of night as also because we know the damage that can be done by using an operator with a door that is not balanced. We were able to rectify the spring issue immediately on Monday which all parties were aware of the situation, including yourself. After our tech was out there on Monday we then pulled one of our most senior installers to make sure there would be no hiccups in completing your door install and finishing the trim work in the day light hours. We would have loved to have more of a conversation about your door and understand your frustrations but we were hung up on by you. Fortunately we did get to go over the concerns you previously had before you hung up on us and you yourself stated that you were very happy with our senior installers work and that everything was working as it should and you provided payment for the remaining door balance. During your brief conversation with our GM you repeatedly stated "compensation" and then kept threatening us with a negative review if we did not give you money to pay for you to not leave a review. We do not pay for reviews, good or bad, and take time to hear and understand each and every customer's concerns. Sometimes things happen outside and inside of our control and we strive to fix any errors or problems in a timely fashion. We did install a door that is working as it should and we were still trying to verify if there was any concerns we did not address in which you became even more agitated and, as previously stated, the conversation with you was terminated by you hanging up on our GM mid sentence. We are glad your door is working as it should and once again would like to apologize for the delayed arrival and the manufacturers spring error but we are glad we got your door up and running. Mistakes do happen and we can certainly own up to ours to make things right if there are any errors. Please feel free to contact our office and speak with our GM again if there are any more concerns we did not address, but from the limited information provided by you on the phone call, outside of needing to be paid to not leave a review, it is our understanding that everything is complete.
